Girl, when I tell you that the school bus service worried me also!! I made it my business to know the bus driver and bus assistant almost on a personal level. They had my phone number in case they needed to contact me (without having to wait to go through dispatch). We were at the point where we were exchanging gifts with each other for the holidays. I also made sure that they were able to see my daughter as a person (if that makes sense), telling them about her personality, showing them pictures of her in her element. The bus staff turned over a few times, and I did this for each person. My daughter is non-verbal and had her days where she was a little more "active" than others. Since I had already explained to the bus staff what to expect, they were able to manage her behavior (harness and all). She had her assigned seat right behind the bus driver. But even with all that preparation, there were still some days where she refused to get on the bus. Just flat out refused! I know you know what I'm talking about. So there were times where we had to drive her to school anyway. Now this Pace van, on the other hand, BAYBEE! I'm going to need therapy for that one, because I can't see it happening. 🙂

Your nursery is so beautiful and elegant. My favorite part was your ancestors naming art work. The idea was just lovely. I also do a lot of ancestry lineage research. I contacted my great Uncle and he told me "back in the day" you couldn't just ASK or especially call your parents, grandparents or elders their name. He basically said you could even ask many questions. It's very sad, but true in lots of families. Also, my son is 5 and in Kindergarten. He rode the bus last year and this year as well. I was so nervous and stressed, but it has turned out to be just fine. They have a bus attendant and he is harnessed. I completely understand your concern, but our children have to learn and grow. Hey, you don’t have to worry they have an assistant on that bus for a.m. and p.m. to help with anything the end needs to get out of school I work in that program and it’s an excellent program and you won’t have to worry about anything. She gets front door service there and back every day so everything will be fine. They’ll probably tell you that it’s gonna be fine don’t worry.

I love how the nursery came together even though it’s “incomplete”! Sooo beautiful!!! I cried when our first son went to pre-K in public school, I followed the bus on the first day, the bus driver let me get on the bus while the bus aide strapped my son in his seat….. we both cried because that was the first time he had ever been in any vehicle without mommy or daddy & yes I followed him all the way to school. Also I love baby girls name, our daughters name is Brielle Rose after her grandmothers names (Danielle & Rosetta). Her nickname is Elle though. I love that we’re similar in that way as far as keeping some sense of tradition & honoring those that came before us. I pray that your labor & delivery goes soo smoothly and both mommy & baby are safe and healthy!

Yes....Girl I truly understand the anxiety. My 2 boys were 5 years apart and i was a little nervous about my oldest getting on the bus. I was about to deliver and thankful he didnt come til school was out. You will do just fine. Take those deep breaths and have those woosa so calming moments.😊

The nursery is BEAUTIFUL! Didn't expect anything less! Walmart did what could. Either pack it up and send it back for a new one or a return. They have the same vendors as Amazon also. The manufacturer of the dresser was the best bet to get the part. I always contact the manufacturer for broken or missing piesces for large items. I have a Moen faucet. If a part wears out, I contact them and they FedEx it to me.

Girl you are knocking these projects out. I'm binge watching lol. With Ann usualyy with the IEP meetings you'll get use to having them throughout the year. Not sure if handle same way in your state but sometimes you can do phone or video conference if you can't make it in which having new born will be helpful. The classes usually have teacher plus 1 helper or 2 so they are not dealing with kids alone. Loving how the room is so far and baby girl name is beautiful

Girl, my son is 13 and is on the spectrum and he JUST started catching the bus to school and I was extremely nervous lol. But they typically can offer a bus attendant, aside from the driver. Also, he gets ABA therapy in school - his therapist goes to school with him. That helped tremendously with our transition into public school! Anne is going to do great and trust me, the fear is completely in the unknown, not the inability of her being able to handle all of the new things ahead. Y’all got this🫶🏾

Hey Ms Vaughn I drive a special need bus and yes it can be very scary but meet the driver and the monitor and tell them a few things about your precious daughter that will keep her as calm as possible and share a good contact number so they can call you if anything happens but she will only be allowed to get off if an appointed adult is there to get her off the bus

I love the picture for the nursery! Your story sparked me to call my mom and ask her about the names of women in our family. Your story was very accurate to what she shared with me. My grandmother’s mom passed away when she was a newborn. Unfortunately, nothing was shared about her (not even a photograph) and her older kids did not have a lot of memory of her as they were small. However, my mom did tell me that my great aunt Evelyn named her daughter, Frances, after her. So touching because her name remains in our generation. I do not have any children, but I love your idea and it’s inspired me to do something similar for a bedroom or my office. Congratulations and thanks for sharing! ❤
