Mt Buller Epic 3

I did this near the start of 2024. I was having trouble breathing in the first few km. Then I seemed to get used to it. Stonefly was a real hard ask. I spent a half hour at the hut recuperating. Stirling Road was good fun - but a bit scary with all the rocks. And I had a lot trouble getting up the hills from Telephone Box Junction to ENJOY. I had another half hour rest there too. And even going down the downhill section I stopped for a couple of rests - it takes a lot out of you too. I took way longer than you guys getting to my car.

Good effort Steve, yeah it is a hard slog, and that rocky section is dicy, overall its a big effort to achieve, but rewarding views and achievement.

Same mate. The start was awesome with the mist and the final last 10 km. Hahaha 4 Parmas.

That was great thanks mate, thoroughly enjoyed all three episodes! Appreciate you including the lead in trails (gangs gangs, stonefly ect) and the less epic bits like fire roads. Considering heading up there next summer and its great to get a more accurate idea of this epic trail. Not that I mind fire road but some of the KZbin productions would make you think its 40km+ of single track!

I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) Yeah, it's a big day on the bike, and I tried to give the complete overview of what it's like. I feel we got lucky with the mist, as it added to the beauty of the place. enjoy your summer ride up there if you go.
