My scapular of our Lady of Mount Carmel was imposed by a O.C.D.priest and blessed by the priest in my shoulder. The Scapular brought protection to my body and to my soul .The tormented Simon Stock persecuted in Palestine ask the Virgin Mary for protection.Then he returns to England with other monks safe with Scapulars as promissed by our Lady of Mount Carmel.All Carmelites wear the habit with the scapular on their shoulders daily until they die.

I'm disabled and in severe chronic pain all the time .One Month before my mother puts the scapular around my neck .Well I had enough was going to commit suicide. I had three suicide notes written out. I was going to put a hose in my cars exhaust and in my window .Well someone out of the blue saves my life .I Won't Take It Off No Way !

Fr. I am wearing a newish scapular my wife gave me. I am overseas and reconverted after a coincidental working trip to the South of France and visited Lourdes. I found my original escapular on a trip to my mother's house last year. It had become detached from the cord and I would like to sew it up, and wear it. Should I destroy the newer one or can I wear it too or give it to another Catholic?

Ave Maria ! You can wear them both. Even the one you repaired can be worn until it is no longer good. When worn out the scapulars should be burned or buried as they are sacramentals.

You can also give one to some other Catholic to wear or keep it as a spare in case something happens to your old one.

You can buy a new scapular and dispose of the old one. It is the person that is concentrated into the order and not the scapular. That means that if you lost your scapular or it wears out you can just replace with a new scapular, without the need to be enrolled again. I must have worn out over 8 scapulars I also have a few for spare in case I snap the cord on mine or something.

We know from the Book of Revelation that there will be the final battle between Good and Evil in the valley of Armageddon which is the valley below the Mountain range that Mt Carmel is part. St. Elias is known to be a part of the end times. Read St. Alphonso de Liguouri's How the World Will End. Ave Maria!
