Tokyo ended the state of emergency so we decided to go on a little road trip to circle Mt Fuji in a rental car. We're stretching our legs at Fujinomiya's Shirotaki Falls, one of Japan's Top 100 sights! It's a really nice waterfall more beautiful in the sunshine, but for us, we were jus happy to be in the grerat outdoors - fresh air, lots of trees.

Great to see you out and about John! We have been really lucky that we moved to a more rural location outside london in November last year. That means we have had a great time exploring the local footpaths with our dog, all while remaining isolated from others. It's important for people to see you keeping safe but please do enjoy having a bit of time outside. And as always keep up the great work!

When I went to Fujinomiya last year in March 2019, I wished that city was more public transport friendly. I thought about checking out that waterfall but it was just too far to walk from Fujinomiya train station as my hotel was quite close to it. I also hardly knew any Japanese so when I tried to investigate if there were any buses to get to it I had no luck. And Google Maps couldn't tell me either. I think for my next Japan trip I am going to do the travelling via car and visit more of the remote places that way. But man! That waterfall looks amazing! :D

Christopher Brown i went by bicycle. It was a long ride but that was back in 2000. Yes, outside urban areas, you need to take a taxi or get a car - or hitchhike. It was worth the trip to visit Shiraito Falls. Def try to make it.

Technically, we should NOT get out of the car - but we just came to stretch our legs. We just wanted to drive around today - around all of Mt Fuji. Kanae got a chance to practice driving too. People are handling it too well. I’m afraid people will rush out, but everyone is wearing masks and doing their best to keep distance. I’m going to be careful going out and try to stay local b from June, I have to start filming again.

19:17 I would so love to stand under that waterfall. Why does Japan like to have no signs for everything...so annoying. But, there's a really small one I know of out in the Scottish countryside where I live and it runs down after a lot of rain. Gonna have to do that soon. There is just something nice about doing that when you know it's crystal clear water as well.
