"It got hot & sunny, we had to leave", spoken like a true Northwesterner. I'm usually complaining once it gets into the 80s

Looks like you picked some great backroads! Another fun video

It’s a really cool route to take. I lost some footage of doing a tricky pass with an oncoming truck that would have been cool.

It's a pretty Overlandy Walmart. That one in particular is renowned as a place people sleep in their cars overnight.

Great channel, and awesome video! I do a lot of backpacking here on the East Coast, but am recently getting into some overlanding with my 2011 4Runner. Love the mods/set-up, and looking forward to following along 👍🏻

Great video! Have you looked at getting a Wehoo for Scott? Might be a good fit for you guys when Scott graduates from the rear bike seat. My son is nearly 6 and still absolutely loves it.

Had to look up what a Weehoo is! We’ve considered it, I have a glider with a hand brake on order for soon, but we have also considered some sort of trailer. Thanks for recommendation I’ll look into them!

Hi Zack! Very cool video, and the scenic shots are beautiful. Oregon is such a beautiful place. Curious, would you potentially be willing to share the coordinates of your campsite, perhaps in a more private venue? Some friends and I are taking a final overland trip this spring (Jeep+Jeep+Tacoma) before I move back to the south, and this would be a lovely place to spend a night. :)

Can you DM me on Instagram? @grizzlypath depending on when you’re going this area is a SnoPark and closed to vehicles or inaccessible due to deep snow but I could still let you know.

U should mount ur tire inflator to ur engine bay. Will do so when I get my 4R. Can't wait.

I’ve thought about it! I may still do it, but I’m also considering running Anderson connectors to the grill so I can just plug in from the front.

Spectacular. Nice set up too. Did you need to get a body mount chop with the tires? Are they 285’s?
@GrizzlyPath2 жыл бұрын
No it’s pretty close to the limit, but I also run 1.75” wheel spacers which increases the scrub radius and can decrease the clearance with the body mount. I don’t have problems though. If I go bigger I likely will.

Love the work you're doing on your channel. I've also gotten a 4runner (2021) and I'm taking some cues from the work you've done to yours. 1. What roof cargo net are you using? Has it been reliable? 2. What phone mount are you using? I've steered away from drilling into the dash so far, but it looks like yours is surface mounted? 3. I'm not quite ready for the full roof rack, but do want to do a similar awning and liked the look of the older basket you were using. I don't have access or experience with welding equipment. Is there a commercial product that might be able to come close to the arrangement you created? Thanks!!

Thanks for the kind words! 1. It’s an old Audi cargo net I just retrofit for the roof. Almost any net will work if you find one about the right size and some hooks to the grab handles. Although I added eye-rings to the rear hanger hooks. 2. I’m using a super cheap stick on phone mount with a magnet and my phone case has a metal plate haha. It’s stuck on the center dash on the flat spot above the left vent! So far it’s held really well actually haha. 3. Most baskets like I had actually come with easy clamps! You’ll just need to make sure you have the cross bars that go across, not just the rails. At least two. Super easy to do though, let me know if you have more questions! My basket was a Rola Vortex with an extra insert to make it longer.
