I have returned to Mt Little Station of Peter Zadow at Hawker after another year to see how the renovation of the once scalded and unproductive floodplain is progressing following the deep laser ripping done by Ian Fels to hold the limited rainfall of the area in the landscape and allow the natural seedbed to regenerate those pastures that were there in the past. I am really impressed by the successful recovery of both plant and birdlife. The whole ecosystem is recovering and it is amazing what is growing here without seeding or fertiliser but simply a single pass of a deep rip. It has a small Bathurst Burr problem that has come with the recovery but I am sure that will be manageable.
