The R40 Slants retired because they were to dangerous.

@@Caitsith810 MTA didn't do a good job on the R40A that's why I think it retired. I know you may think I'm lying. But I think they didn't add the correct stainless steel. Especially with the R38 When I came into service in 1966 they could have lasted like 2022-2023

Correct stainless steel? There's no such thing as "correct stainless steel".....they had stainless steel sides with a carbon steel underbody, it's the CARBON STEEL that was rusting, not the STAINLESS STEEL....that's why the sides looked good.

I don't miss these, and I wont miss the R46 either. They are horribly mundane. Honestly I really like the Kawasaki cars, but the bombardier ones are terrible.

I miss R40S/M but when R46 retires I’m gonna be so happy, that in fact I will party because R46 deserves to be retired for derailing so much
