I love that great low growl of the engine. That bad boy sounded fast, especially when it kicked into 2nd gear. You guys there in the NYC are so cool for hanging on to these great treasures for as long as you did. The city where I'm from (Detroit) retired the last of these models 25 years ago. Great sound and great pictures a definite memory pleaser. A treat for all bus fans. Thanks Spectacular66!

These New York Buses sound great-I live in Chicago-I'm from Chicago(born in 1961)and the Chicago Transit Authority had these 1961-62 GM Fishbowl New Look buses and I used to ride on them

Last Year I Rode On This Vintage NYC Bus From My Birth Year Of 1961.I Rode On The M42 Line In Manhattan Along 42nd Street. It Brought Back Memories Of My Childhood Growing Up In The Greenpoint Section Of Brooklyn New York In The Late 1960s And Early 1970s.I Rode On Buses Like These But Not With The Number 1059.

@gmcbuses For Brooklyn, the B1 and B65 are the two routes with the buses, in Queens it's the Q13 and Q46, I don't know about the others

@gmcbuses This picture gives a goooooood hint as to where this one is currently running this week. There are a good number of the vintage buses floating about this time around. Two in Brooklyn, two in Queens, two in the Bronx, two in Manhattan and one in Staten Island. They rotate every week. The routes, however, stay the same. They like to run in the mornings, if it rains or snows, don't expect them to show up.

I love these buses...These bus is way better then today buses... I remember i ride on the back seat these fishbowl bus not the green one...But the blue and white one when I was a kid.. I wish they can bring back these fishbowl bus but a newer model...These new bus from today...They are to square.. It look like a carding of toothpaste with four wheels...

You got lucky there. Is there a way to find out which routes they are on for sure. Take out the guess work. Otherwise I could be unable to find them, be stuck not getting any rides on them, or multiple rides this month which I was hoping for.
