For those wondering why the Rockaway Park branch is served by a shuttle instead of splitting the A like at Lefferts, all but one of the five stations on the Rockaway Park branch are the top 4 least used stations in the system with the remaining station being the 8th. Remember, service patterns in complex rail systems are usually based on ridership demand, not the track layout, connections, junctions or continuations.

I heard that no more R46's are running on the shuttle. Fully R179's now.

R179s are pretty much standard on the Shuttle now. I believe there are no more R46s on that line.

Doubt it cause they mainly use the R211’s on the A but sometimes the C.
