I'm just confused why the 7 express train didn't stop at 74 street-broadway? Isn't that a big stop because you can transfer to the F,E,R,M, and 7 to Main Street? Nice video by the way, I've been watching all of them lol

I really don't have a direct answer to that but I assume it's because when the Flushing Line was built, 74 St wasn't really a major stop until the Queens Blvd Line was built (10-15 years later) and by then it was too late to construct express platforms and tracks. Yes, you can transfer to the E/F/M/R lines downstairs. Thanks for the love :P

Cruise Views The station was built as a local station before the Queens Blvd express station was built. And even then, by having express trains skip the transfer point, it would balance out loads on both the local and express line rather than having an overcrowded express and a virtually empty local.

My Version of 7 Express Train: (Manhattan) Flushing - Main Street Mets - Willets Point Junction Blvd 74 - St Broadway Woodside - 61 Street Queensboro Plaza Court Square Grand Central - 42 Street 5 AV Times Square - 42 Street 34 Street - Hudson Yards. (Vice versa for Flushing bound)

You provide a fantastic idea. Honestly it's worth taking to the MTA board lol. I hate how 74th is skipped and Vernon Jackson and HP are Express stations. Literally a stone throw away from the city has both expresses and locals stopping there. MTA logic 😐😐

That would require the train to switch over to the local track then back onto express track. Too much work and slows down express time

I thought the 7 Express only goes one way to Flushing Main Street like the 6 it's goes one way to Peblum Bay Park. Also LED Sign Exclusive R188 at 10:12.

redphone243 Well yeah you're kinda right. The 7X line is a One way peak direction express, meaning that it operates express AM hours towards Manhattan and PM hours towards Main St.

I gotta admit you did a great job with this one. Honestly my criticism for full ride uploads that you do in the future is try not to speak and just let the pictures tell the story like you did here. I want you to take the 2 train from Flatbush Avenue to Wakefield on a weekday and just like this video, try not to speak. A lot of people love when pictures tell the story. Eventually I might ask that you take the 2 from Wakefield to Flatbush also

I’m from UK so wouldn’t know, but what is the point of the Times Sq.-Grand Central Shuttle service (S train) when the 7 train covers exactly the same thing as the S train? (Run between 42nd and GC with no intermediate stops, exactly like the S train)

I totally feel you lol but it's to reduce the amount of people traveling to/from the 7 train to get to either Times Sq or GC. The 1 stop shuttle is in a different section from the IRT/BMT lines and is it's own train, meaning that the only people who use it are the only people going to either TS/GC, unlike the 7 that comes all the way from Flushing.

The 7 does have an intermediate stop at 5th Avenue. The shuttle runs direct from Times Square to Grand Central with no stops. Also it has more frequent service than the 7.
