In Singapore, where the humidity is in the high 90 percentage, most clothes get soaked quickly. Rain, thankfully, is not cold, and I tend to dry off quickly after the rain stops. I usually protect my money and phone from the heavy showers, rather than myself.

Five Ten Trailcross Gore-Tex shoes. Years of blisters and wet feet in vans style shoes that were heavy, awlful to push up in and took ages to dry. I bought the none gore-tex version when they first came out like a dream to ride and walk in, quick drying but the waterproof onces are perfect for the UK where there's standing water 9/10 rides

I should bought sooner a water bottle with wider neck. It makes a huge difference. The ones with tiny necks are so tirering to drink of, especially during physical climbs. A dropper seatpost is the real game changer. So if you do not have it already buy one and see your self.

I lucked out on waterproofs. 2 decades of fishing has built a nice wardrobe full of waterproofs. The one bit of kit I wish I'd bought sooner was a multitool. A £5 multitool. Found a Crivit tool in Aldi or Lidl, has a t25, all the necessary hex keys, flat and Philips screwdriver and a chain tool. Why a £5 tool? Because I've had too many Topeak and Lezyne tools get pinched on the trails, if the crivit goes missing then I'm not so out of pocket. Also got to say Veloviz. It's a small company down in Cornwall who manufacture reflective stickers, really nice ones. Make you super visible at night (in conjunction with lights) but look stonking in the daylight.
