As someone who has just recovered from a high speed crash, protective gear is cheaper then medical bills. Also the time away from your favorite sports and Hobbies is just not worth the risk. Get light weight body armor that's comfortable because that's better than having super protective body armor that you won't wear due to bulk.

Thanks to advocating safety advice. I just got into cycling for commuting across the city. I find it very odd that there are no protection options for road cyclists except for the usual helmet. I had to look into MTB protection in the chance that a car crash into me.

@@Lancers262 body protection is not enough "aero" for aero fanatics it seems - you have many risks but one health - downhill or road
@dudeonbike8003 жыл бұрын
@@petrmatousek7422 that isn't it, Petr. You simply cannot exert yourself physically with thick, protective clothing on. Motorcyclists are always amazed to see cyclists flying down descents with "nothing on." Problem is, you cannot pedal to the top with leathers on! The pros wear lycra because it allows for proper cooling when hot, and enough thermal protection when temps drop. When I ride in the rain, just adding a one-layer waterproof outer shell can cause enough heat build up to make riding uncomfortable. You sweat from within and end up just as wet. The person who can invent road-rash resistant clothing that doesn't overheat will be a billionaire. But that's almost impossible.

Even small falls can do a lot of damage if you get tangled up in your bike, lose your front wheel and go down hard on your knees & arms, or mangle your shin on your pedal. Couldn't imagine riding without full body coverage. Doesn't have to be expensive gear - I'm covered from neck to ankles for just over £100.
@zaiikgo3377 Жыл бұрын
what gear have you got that you can get full body for £100?

where is the collar bone protector? Probably the single most common injury that sidelines us. I still don't think there is good tech for this yet. Side and rear shoulder impacts blow out collar bone and I wish we had an option that was light weight and low profile that provided an upper-body brace system and pad designed to save the collar bone.
@mariopistoia78284 жыл бұрын
there are some motocross chest protector which includes also the shoulder protector, for example from alpinestar
@shooter7a3 жыл бұрын
Collar bones are usually broken in compression. Not much you can do to stop it if you fall onto a shoulder.
@dudeonbike8003 жыл бұрын
Get yourself in the weight room! Clavicle breaks cannot be 100% avoided, but if you do some upper body work, you can reduce incidence. Add to that a judo class so you can learn to fall and not slam. But no guarantees. Clavicles heal, brains and broken spinal cords don't. Thus the neck brace.

After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working kzbin.infoUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.

@piciu2562 жыл бұрын
It's really not, not counting road trips to bike parks etc. you only really need to buy the gear once (granted it's not cheap, but not super expensive) look how much any king of motorsport hobby costs, and that's without even getting into racing, even on amateur level, that shit is so expensive, you don't even have a chance to start unless you have a sponsor or rich parents.
