TD and I get it going on the tabletop, amazed at the value of this $10 dagger...what? For the price you'll see it is completely amazing!
Katz Alley Kat: shrsl.com/2bxvh
MTECH Daggers: shrsl.com/2cigu
MTECH double edged MT20, very xlnt, has same handle as the SOG Govt Agent!: amzn.to/2Z1BVOZ
MTECH Hades Dagger, grey: amzn.to/2YYmMy6
MTECH Hades Dagger, Gold TiNi, very cool: shrsl.com/2cih0
Cold Steel Counter TAC and Counter Point blades, xlnt, cheap too: shrsl.com/2cj0w
Models and Trinkets:
- The little grey truck is indeed 8th MS team's hover truck from the old MSIA line. There's a 1/35 scale kit of it but it's hard to find and out of production. Cool to look at though! amzn.to/3dZ4ukp. The old-school model boxart is radical. It's the "Platoon Briefing Set 1/35 HardGraph."
- The plane is an MSIA line FX-550 Skygrasper toy. THere's a 1/144 kit of it out there that's much cooler and detailed, but $$$. amzn.to/3e1TaEf
- The fastback 'stang is from an old jada toys or maisto line called 'For Sale'. They took their normal diecast sculpts and painted them up like every guy's dream barn find, with dirt, rust, incomplete project panels and all. A really cool little set from about 2007 if I remember right.

TNP Patreon is where the action is! Lots more videos and action over there...never too late to join and support the workload: www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy. Here's just some of the comments from TNP Patrons on this video that was posted over there earlier: "Robert --|=====> I’d have to say my sketch is a perfect dagger design. D2 Steel, absolutely no serrations, handle made from the femur of my enemies... On a serious note, I wish my Gerber MKii didn’t have serrations. 2 2w Colin M. Nutn have you every tried out the Tops Steel Eagle 107C? I usually am not a fan of heavy knives but i took it out camping and it’s freaking awesome for chopping, batoning, cutting nice notches with the teeth etc. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Haven't tried it. I have no doubt it will chop good though. I don't care for its handle that's down swept with ridges that batter the hands though. I have some others I will be testing soon. 1 2w Todd Strelka What a great value dagger! I like the Cold Steel competitive options too. I have several Cold Steel knives in my collection. Thanks for the review! 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Todd! You bet. You can't go wrong with CS usually. 1 2w Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest I have had this knife for almost 20 years. I bought it for like 23 dollars now they are 50. It's on my plate carrier www.coldsteel.com/kobun2.html For 13 dollars you can't go wrong with this MTECH. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Love the Kobun! Check out my 2008 review on it! I also did an update on it later and it's been featured as a competitive option in many KRVs. 1 2w Load 1 reply Alexander Morton Glad my $6 a month donation helped y’all afford the perfect $13 ass shank for prison 😭🤣 6 2w The Nutnfancy Project Ass Shank...LOL 2w Load 1 reply Guy Actual Some pretty crappy jokes in this one. ;) Such an easy purchase to set aside should you need to help out someones incomplete kit, in the future. I would file this under "Future Aid - Help for those that don't prepare" OR If you cannot afford the fixed blade Infidel from Benchmade or the Cold Steel Peace Keeper, MTech has you covered! 4 2w The Nutnfancy Project Exactly. Most do not prepare. Also just a fun little purchase to mess around with. I got another MTECH coming that I'll review too. 2w Load 1 reply Johnny Another Gundam fan here. 2 2w The Nutnfancy Project Word 2w Nick Campbell I've been wanting a fixed blade with a double edge for some time but have never owned one. Saw this and was so tempted to impulse buy ASAP. Thought about it for about 10 minutes and instead I placed an order for a Cold Steel Counter Tac. If only I had the coin to justify a Tai Pan in San Mai. 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project Counter Tac is a great choice, I'll put that in the descrip. too. Tai Pan is the King of the Daggers. Also I rec' the Boker Desert Dagger...very effective. 2w Nancy Merrell-Robertson I absolutely love dagger blades. For me it's always a hard decision between the clip point, the tanto, and the dagger blade. THis price is amazing! Thank you, @nutnfancy. 💙 2 2w The Nutnfancy Project You are welcome! I too love the dagger blades...I gots a small collection b. they make me happy 2w Jordan Embry A KRV under $20?! The Smith & Wesson HRT is a comparable dagger with a shorter blade (4.7") with 7Cr17MoV and what looks to be a slightly superior handle. 3 2w The Nutnfancy Project Also a great option 2 2w Plumber Angelo Nutn and doodle dropping hot hot heat lately. Daggers, ass shanks and gundams??? Standard procedure KRV and I love it!! 3 2w The Nutnfancy Project Standard indeed...thanks for noticing 2 2w Madison Bee Nothing beats the good old roach belly. The knife that started me on TNP.. nutnfancy btw they updated it. 1 2w Kenny VanCleave Crap is crap, I don't care how tall you stack it. Please no more MTech. 2w The Nutnfancy Project I hear ya Kenny. Lots of love for it though. But I have plenty of high quality much more expensive KRVs already filmed for ya ;-) 2 2w Charles New That's my kind of knife, 3rd kinda cool all day . So cheap it's hard to complain about it. 2w Kenneth Dixon Nutnfancy strikes me as a Heavy Arms Gundam fan. Troa Barton's method to all out assault may not match up too well, but the Gundam? Oh yeah. Nice buttknife, btw. 2w Justin Matthew Golden I went to order a grey Hades, but you psychos had already bought them all. I ended up ordering one with a gold finish. Felt oddly appropriate for some reason... 1 2w The Nutnfancy Project " but you psychos had already bought them all" LOL The Gold TiNi version looks great I gotta say. 1 2w Jeremy Gontarz Works good as a cheap through away boot knife. I have had one of the earlyer models for years. 2w Ryan Benn The Kämpfer is my favorite MS! Here in Michigan we have pretty decent gun laws but knives are pretty heavily regulated. They've gotten looser in the last few years but they still don't like blades that are pointy or sharp on both sides. Still I'm getting one of these if there are any left. 2w Leif52Pickup My wife saw this and said " dude I need this." 2w The Nutnfancy Project Your wife is awesome 1 2w Negolfman Quarry test video maybe? Mtech Hades is on sale for $7.99 currently. Did anyone see Grindworkx also has a Thunder OTF that’s almost identical to the Lightning on sale for $9.99? 2w The Nutnfancy Project Didn't see that Thunder yet, but totally worth the low price to try it. Quarry test would be xlnt but I gave the blade away already...sad 2w Andrey Shlyakt Would like to see more reviewed in the POU of disposable ass murder devices. Just saying theres a void there. ....get it? 1 2w James White Damn you Nutn'. You made me buy another knife. LOL. 2w Maplebrew I’ve got it in last Friday while I was rototilling and wound some string around the tines. Well wtf my new knife went straight to work and now has a dusty badass dirt impregnated on it. The sheath appears to be functional as well 5d Brandon Wilson So I bought the $10 knife. I got what I paid for. It's literally small enough to be a toy lol."

My wife knows how much a love a good knife, so a couple years ago for my birthday, "bless her heart" she bought me a Mtech chopper sized knife. We were going camping for my birthday and she thought that It would be great for doing guy stuff and work around camp. This wasn't the first low budget knife she's bought me over the years and I will never have the courage to tell her. It makes her so happy to know she got me something I'm in to and will use. BTW...that Mtech chopper has held up remarkably well summer after summer batoning and chopping stuff. Jokes on me I guess. Lol!

That seems to go both ways. I think we've all bought the lady something a little out of our wheelhouse and made her brush up on her acting skills. I see a lot of guys buying watches for the lady, but they never seem to share the same tastes. I'm pretty sure women don't like watches at all, it's more an attraction to bracelets that masquerade as a timepiece to get the enthusiast husband to foot the bil. 1/8th inch watch face with no numerals and stick markers only, how easy to read! But the band is beautiful gold with gems n' shit or whatever. Noice. -Doodle

Your last watch video got me considering getting one. What do you guys think about vintage wristwatches that have radium luminescent paint on the hands & numerals? From what I've read, a lot of people say it's only dangerous if you open it up and ingest or inhale the radium paint dust/ particles. Others say to stay away from them altogether. Is it too radioactive for you to wear daily? Is the risk of it breaking open too high?

I’ve never bought anything from MTech, they have SOME decent looking knives but at the price they sell for I automatically assumed they had to be complete junk...though I’ve always liked Morakniv, they make surprisingly great knives for cheap prices...with that being said,I’ve spoiled myself with the premium steels like M390,20CV,204P,LC200N,S35VN,S30V,3V,M4,CPM 154,etc,etc which makes it harder for me to buy knives in 420HC,440C,AUS8,8CR13MOV,etc..I have knives in all of these steels but most are knives I’ve bought before I got into the more premium stuff..not that there aren’t plenty of great knives available in all of these steels.I have many that I would never get rid of but they rarely get much pocket time these days, though they are much easier and quicker to sharpen up...that’s one thing I love about 1095,it sharpens up quick and easily yet it still has pretty good edge retention...I have a Gerber StrongArm,Gerber Prodigy,Buck 110,Buck 112 and a Buck 119 and I like all these knives but after using more premium steel it seems the 420HC loses its edge ridiculously fast..though 420HC is some tough stuff,I’ve beat the living hell out of my Prodigy,StrongArm and 119 and they are all as tough as nails, just not happy with the edge retention

From what I can tell the 8.5" Hades is literally the exact same spec, made in the same factory, as both the older Schrade Needle and current S&W HRT boot daggers -- the only difference being the blade logos and the fact that the Schrade and S&W have leather sheaths with belt/boot clips. *All these are basically cheaper clones of the venerable Gerber Mk I anyway; which is probably the greatest boot knife ever made.* The Mk I has been cloned by many companies over the years; Rothco also still makes a version much closer to the original Gerbers with solid metal handle like the real thing. Back in the '80s there was also a plethora of Japanese Mk I clones from Frost, Parker, United, Eagle, Tak Fukuta, et al. All roads lead to Seki... I still have several of those boot knives under the "Smoky Mountain Toothpick", "Mississippi Gambler", "Texas Wildcat" and "Explorer" labels (all had their name etched on their blades, as was the cool fashion of the era lol). Anyone else remember those? They were _everywhere_ for a long time. I'm a big fan of the classic leather boot type sheath with clip -- not so much for these nylon belt sheaths which feel cheap and awful to me. For the price you can't go wrong with these Mtech daggers though I suppose (or the Schrade or S&W identical versions); if you can get past the awful sheath and don't expect too much in terms of quality anyway. They make great beaters and are indeed basically disposable should you need to ditch them in a hurry for some reason.

The Katz knife is a dagger. Its called an asymmetrical dagger. Boker made a really great dagger designed by Jurgen Schanz. I don't think they've made it in 2 or 3 years. It had an integral guard. It looked heavy. Ontario made a couple of single edge daggers called the Shank and the Shiv. The shiv was about 8 inches, the shank about 11 inches. Reasonable price. I got the shank for like $48. Mtech does occasionally make a good knife. So many of their designs are crazy mall ninja looking junk but a few years ago i found one with 440 stainless blade, (probably A), in a drop point hunter design. Full tang with ugly tacticool paper micarta handle scales. I maybe paid $20 for it? 3/16 thick. Full flat grind. Crappy sheath. I gave it a couple weeks work. It held an edge well so i pulled the ugly handle scales off, replaced them with some amber canvas micarta and made a kydex sheath. Carried it on and off for about a year. A friend really liked it so i gave it to him. He carries it when he goes hunting. Swears its best knife he's ever had. Mtech makes a copy of cold steel's trailmaster bowie. I think the trailmaster is maybe an inch longer. It said 440 stainless. I got it on ebay for $26 or $27 shipped. It was a chopping beast. It had a powder coat finish. Why? It was stainless. There was a video on KZbin of a guy abusing the hell out of one eventually he shot it with his .380 pistol. It was still useable after.

That blade came off a SOG knife, they used to make a copy of a SOG dagger but had to change the design.

So TD definitely gave away his fancy.. 7” colon tickler...... and then Nutin pulls out the doll with the beads... wow....serious note there are a few Mtech blades that aren’t bad. I have a folder, that’s held for 9 years. Probably only have two or three sharpenings left.

I'm going to buy a few just to remove the handle and put the blade on the end of an oak spear shaft. For 10 dollars you have something that can remind you that firearms are better ranged weapons.

I never really cared for double edged knives, and I much prefer utility combat knives like the Ka Bar or any of the OKC combat stuff. Even would take a Becker BK-7 over this. All the knives I mention are utility combat so they look like you could use them for anything a job or a fight. Double edged stuff looks like its a killing knife only.

I bought my little nephew an OKC SP-2 survival knife from Amazon for just $26 for Christmas..I was pleasantly surprised with the knife I received.for $26 you just can’t beat it.Ive paid nearly twice as much for Chinese made Schrade knives...I have multiple ESEE knives that costed 4 to 7 times as much money.. I definitely prefer my ESEE knives as they have better sheaths, and G-10 and Micarta scales instead of the rubber handled OKC SP-2 but $26 for an American made knife in 1095 is a hell of a bargain..that knife is tough as nails and is comfortable to use.Ive never been a big fan of nylon sheaths but the sheath that came with it was much nicer than I expected...anybody looking for a good budget survival knife,I couldn’t recommend the SP-2 enough...nothing against Schrade,I’ve bought some great Schrade knives over the years but I’ve also bought my fair share of duds too.the Chinese QC can often leave a lot to be desired.knives with poor heat treatments definitely slip through the cracks at times.Ive had 1095 Schrade knives that were absolute tanks and held up to years of heavy use.. I’ve also had a few 1095 Schrade knives that either broke in half or a huge chunk of the edge broke off as soon as I introduced them to work..aside from a couple poor quality sheaths and slightly misaligned grinds,Ive never had anything but positive experiences with OKC

Okay, I wanted to respond but had to clean up first since I peed my pants. Don't want the knife, but loved the review. I've picked up several knives on your recommendation Nutn. I have a Honeybadger in my pocket right now. Since you were doing budget, I wanted to suggest a recent purchase for your consideration. Made by S-Tec, the T228699 12.75" fixed blade hunting knife (blade length 7"), light, ABS plastic sheath, rubberized no-slip grip, with wickedly sharp serrated spine, not just useless big jags for looks. The MSRP is $24.95, but I picked it up for $14.95 at megaknife.com, and still offered at that price, so right in the Hades Dagger wheelhouse. I'm sure no one has ever suggested a knife to you, so I wanted to be the first.

dirtime I meant “when SHTF they ARE gonna regret skimping on their blades”..though I figure one would realize it was a typo by the rest of my comment of me clearly laughing at cheap Mtech knives.. the cheapest knife I own is a Chinese made Schrade though it’s in 1095 and built like a tank I still wouldn’t trust it for a Bugout bag or any type of serious situation where I would need a decent dependable knife..on my gear bag I currently have an ESEE Junglas strapped on the side and my ESEE 3 in S35VN though I often swap those out with my Estwing camp axe and my Bradford Guardian 4 in M390...I don’t skimp on tools of any kind..from wrenches, sockets, hammers, screwdrivers, etc, etc to knives, machetes, axes, saws, etc to firearms, pellet rifles,bows,crossbows,etc..I don’t buy cheap tools of any kind

@@garrettferrell6821 My response was to Michael. I agree with you totally. Companies like Mtech and many others are in business because of dumb people that either are totally ignorant when it comes to quality or are just cheap with everything. The thing is that there's no reason to go cheap when buying a knife. I mean starting at $30 and even less, you can buy a decent knife from kershaw or Gerber, Cold Steel, etc... No reason to buy shady Mtechs and other junk clones.
