Just to avoid confusion and for more clarification on eligibility, check this: "Students with a BE / B Tech or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE) or M Sc or equivalent degree in any discipline (with a valid GATE) are eligible to apply. Hi sapna.. MCA students are eligible to give gate exam. But given your history I would suggest talk to someone who has done gate after MCA. He or she might know other constraints if any. You can join linkedin and find students who might have done same courses.

hi nikhil. do you want to shift your career in IT sector? then I think doint MTech from CS dept. will be more benefecial. if you get selected in a tier 1 or tier 2 institution. because placements are very good there. for preparing for GATE CS, you might have to do a lot of hardwork given your background. but it's not impossible if you do it smartly from good online coaching and with a lots of practice. I would suggest first see what you truely want and how much effort you are willing to put into it. I am not much aware of MCA. if you think there is also good job opportuities then do consider it as well.

@@Sneha_Negi NIT MCA have very good placements, like avg 10-15lpa, 40-45 max. Agar gate ke liye nhi gaye to majorly kya opportunities miss hongi? Could you describe. At the end if I want to do a tech job.

Yes yes.. gate score is valid for 2 years. You can check in google as well. Student who appeared in gate in in their 3rd year also use same gate score after their final year.

Hey mam, I gave Gate 3rd time in 2023. This year also I am expecting marks around 50. Can I do Mtech Research on CDS or any CS branch in IISC in this marks? If I can, can you guide us what are the areas we can follow right now for Mtech Research interview? Do I need to learn about the research areas for what we are applying? I mean if I apply for CDS Do I have to learn Data Science? I am totally blank about how these interview works? What are things we have to do for basic requirement so we can at least show up in the interview? rest is our excellency on those areas and up to faculties. I think we discussed in the video. you should have a good knowledge of statistics and linear algebra and probabilities. other than that ther dont expect you to have great knowledge of any research areas. like in CDS there are students from biotech background as well. so you can understand they are also very naive to Data science.

Actually in my case semester exams were not that tough in btech. Bache one night studies krke pass ho jate the.. see agar tumhe sach m GATE k liye prepare krna hai toh. Bas ye socho ki tumhe exams bas pass krne hain. Ese bhut acha cgpa lane ki jaroorat nahi hai. Koi dost ho jiske sath group studies krr skte ho for semester exam. Ya jo tumhari help krr skta ho semester exam k notes k liye. Ye toh dekho tumhe time table esa banana hoga jisse tum dono k sath cope up krr paao. Or ho jayega bhut sare bache ese hi krte hain. You are not alone

Hey hi, I don’t believe so.. your performance in placement will only affect your placement. Interviewer might have a conversation about your gap years that what did you do at that time. But that’s it. I know friends who had 2..3 years gap.. I didn’t hear that this was problematic
