Hey Luca, just a quick aside that I doubt you get very often: I LOVE the thin lime green outline you added to this video's thumbnail; it really pops off KZbin's homepage in a way that I don't see many content creators formatting their videos. You used a bright yellow outline for the Drake Haven deck, too, and it immediately caught my eye. Not surprised your deck design ingenuity transfers to other creative realms! Prospector and tower definitely should hold priority, at least in response to spell. Why Adanto Vanguard and Selfless Saviour hold priority and prospector/tower don't, this doesn't make any sense.

yeah hard to understand why some do but some don't. but whether intentional or not, i'm glad they're at least not making ALL of these cards hold priority by default. it has made adanto vanguard one of my least favorite cards to play against, i guess because it's been around for practically the entire lifetime of arena. it's not just me, i think that's one of the most hated cards in the arena collection. although other cards have that problem, adanto vanguard is probably the one everyone has experienced the most. did they really have to add this unavoidable priority stop to a card that already has a really annoying, aggressive effect? not to mention a card that especially appeals to new players as it's a cheap, powerful aggressive card that fits perfectly into one of the cheapest archetypes. my mind shudders at the thought of the sheer number of hours that card has wasted on arena so far lol

The reason they don't is cause mtg arena is programmed to not hold priority for any abilities that generate mana. It worked perfectly fine for a while but it's a bit dumb now that in historic there's multiple effects that sacrifice things to generate mana which you very much might wanna do in response to something

@@Phaymyr91 Well, only if you have a good reason why you might want to sacrifice a creature to prospector. Most of the time, unless it's your turn, you can't use mana from the ability in any way. You should hold priority if you are up against the deck that has cards relying on creatures dying (mainly massacre wurm), or cards like Claim the Firstborn. Then holding full control during opponent's turn is a useful thing to do. But they really should hurry up and fix it.

It doesn't hold priority because it wasn't implemented by the development team. A while ago was a problem on a mythic championship because of this, one player casted Legion Warboss and since the game didn't hold priority the triggered ability went to the stack before the opponent could cast a spell to remove the goblin. But it was fixed after that so i think it has to be implemented card by card. There are many improvements that can be done but wizards don't seem to bother unless it embarrasses them publicly. One of the things that really annoys me is that the game holds priority with cycling when i don't have the mana to cycle any card, i have to constantly click to pass to the next phase bha...

Phyrexian Tower not holding priority has boned me countless times in your Aristocrats + Citadel deck. The game should be able to detect when saccing would accomplish something other than just generating mana, and hold priority in those instances.

Great deck! I've been trying to make a deathtouch synergy deck with Hapatra, Nest of Scarabs and some -1/-1 counter distribution but i feel like there is not enough support for it....maybe splash red for Scorpion God and that one minotaur ....idk. Really curious on how you would make it work (since you always make it work) or if you already made it work haha!

They do have priority per the rules of the game, but MTGA doesn't hold priority for mana abilities if you don't have a castable spell unless you already have a stop enabled.

@@sudazima the game automatically making bad plays is not a good thing. It already holds priority if a permanent being targeted has an ability (including mana abilities) that can be activated. It just needs to be smarter about when it should hold priority. IMO before passing it should check if the stack would modify, destroy, exile, or change ownership of a permanent. If yes, it should check if I have an ability that could target, sacrifice, or exile the same permanent. If both are true for any permanent, it should hold priority.

It's a mana ability. As long as you have nothing to cast or no activated abilities to activate with untapped lands or other mana abilities Arena defaults you in not having priority. You'd have to turn on full priority with the keyboard to respond to Massacre Wurm.
