That interaction with ebon legion reminds me of vampire tribal before rotation. Nothing like getting a counter on your knight turn 2 for 'free' by paying 4 life with adanto vanguard.

it struck me as an odd thing for him to bring up this interaction though, because requires a spawn in play and bringing back a demonic embrace in the same turn. in that turn... it seems very unlikely the opponent wouldn't lose 4 life anyway. i'm actually struggling to imagine any scenario this could ever come up. lol turn 1 knight into turn 2 adanto and then paying 4 life to clock your control opponent faster was a frequently useful line of play though. i miss adanto.

Demonic Embrace as been nuts in games I've played it against! Especially on rotting Regisaur or a Knight of Ebon Legion.

You could consider playing 22 lands in this deck due to the land smoothing algorithm being a thing. Your curve is almost as light as mono-red cavalcade and they run 20-21 lands in MTGA

@@NecromancyForKids ​ @Necromancy For Kids Yes, chance of being mana screwed is way smaller than the chance to be flooded thanks to the algorithm. Running 22 lands will get you 3-4 lands in top 10 most of the time which is the sweet spot for this deck, more is just a waste of card advantage .... You could run 2 extra freebooters, eliminate or heartless act would be fine additions, a one of Sanctum of the Stone Fangs could be considered most control decks don't have a lot of healing outside of Uro and it helps race mono red or mono green. One of Erebos could also be included as it's pretty hard to remove (Extinction Event and Ugin are the only ones played), it wins aggro matchups and can counter boardwipes if you're first.

With Castle I usually don't mind drawing more lands. The decks has quite a few manasinks.

Necromancy For Kids I already gave a ton of card suggestions in the comment above, have you even read it? All those cards don’t suddenly STOP you from casting your top drops BECAUSE THERE IS AN ALGORITHM IN PLACE THAT GIVES YOU LAND WOWIIEEEEEE. Choice is simple, what would you rather have in your hand, a 5th-7th land or one of the cards I just gave in the earlier comment. You’re not gonna get mana screwed out of a 3-drop with 22 lands because the algorithm exists, maybe try to understand how that works before typing anything .... Also, let’s just run useless cards because there is a chance we will discard our cards anyways... What kind of silver logic is that ?!? Simply put, with 24 lands you have a really small chance to be mana screwed and have a pretty decent chance to be flooded, which is also a really terrible thing to happen for an aggro deck, on 22 lands you still have almost the same chance to be mana screwed because an algorithm gives you lands in hand, the chance to be flooded decreases more than the chance to be screwed increases, ehich always makes it better to run less lands in this case AND you get extra cards in your deck for more card advantage.

LegenVD But with this deck you’d rather have more action in hand so you can push the early win, your engines and mana sinks don’t really stand a chance in the matchups where they’ll eventually matter. You’d rather have more playable cards in your deck that are more effective than 3 mana +3/+3 or (effectively) 4 mana draw a card and lose some life. Those sinks can still be used because you’ll hit 3/4 lands easily AND you get more useful cards to actually play out. The cards you can run in your deck instead of 2 lands will also be more mana efficient and stronger than the sink effects for which you’ll need s ton of extra lands in play for them to actually be of any extra use.

25:30 I'm guessing you wanted to hold back Serrated Scorpion so you could activate Knight twice. However, do you think it could have been worth it to play it out so that you can sacrifice it to Rankle if he connects? Would that line have been better, worse, or would it not really matter?

Considering he had 2 knights and he only needed to pump one to win, I think it's a "better play" but the game was over for like 3 turns at that point. Nice spot :)

Could the mana base be improved? You top out at four mana and only need BB by turn two - it seems you could both play fewer lands and play some colorless ones. Bonder's Enclave?

Voltage the commons and uncommons are free in Arena. The rates take time to collect but you get about 1 random rare per day. Packs are a dollar if you want to pay. You cannot liquidate your rares, hence the ability for WoTC to offer ~1 random rare per day
