I'm already having to explain myself a lot regarding Take Down, so let me elaborate: 1st of all, we suck against flyers, period. Second, it can kill Heart of Kiran on our second main phase, after it blocks. If that's too narrow, try Appetite for the Unnatural or more Natural Obsolescence. Thanks for watching!

I'm seriously 2 weeks into MTG as a whole, and have gotten a more expensive deck than most starters would like to spend *about 150* and this kind of video is great to see just as a change of pace. To flat out give perspective that some cheaper cards, just because of their price, do not make them nonviable or useless. Very happy with this sort of youtube content it's great!
Strictly Better MtG I was gonna say... ALSO I'm brewing Jund Aggro but I'm also interested in Abzan counters, like BG Snake but with Ajani and his oath

run a Cryptolith Rite and have the scions not only tap for mana but also sacrifice it for ANY color after. You could have a Blisterpod turn one Cyrptolith Rite turn 2, have the Blisterpod die getting a scion, turn 3 play Call of the Scions, then turn four play another call of the scions and have like 10+ mana

I think your channel improved a lot over the last 2 years and I really like how you manage things. I played a lot of formats but the problem is that I was never good at one format to master it. I think draft is the one most related to standard if you want to make videos about something else (because you draft, you get cards and you buy the rest to play standard). Or sealed/ league events.

This is exactly the kind of deck I would make to teach someone how to play the game. Maby throw in an enchantment and sideboard the instants so that they could play with most of the card types and finish it off with a Nissa (in a format with so much removal the minus 3 could get us back an important creature and the +1 also can work as ramp) Thanks for the tech, looks like simple fun :)
@greysun70207 жыл бұрын
The reason a deck like this can backfire on you is because you aren't playing with anything more then a whole bunch of creatures and the format today has a ton of removal and big threats. Splash in another color, add in about 10 removal cards and I bet this cheap but awesome idea will shine even more! Love your videos and ideas bro! Keep being inventive and coming up with new decks that can compete with all the top tier decks, you're awesome!

Not a bad deck for $3.50 I would put in the land blighted woodland. It can tutor up the last land needed for Bournemouth, crusher, and ulvenwald captive activation. I would also put in the land spawning bed. It provides the eldrazi spawns necessary to get deathless behemouth out of out deck. since we are only running mono green. I think it's safe to play around with the fancy colorless lands.

was there a verdict on natures way vs prey upon? I built the deck and do have a bit of trouble with using prey upon if I happen to fall behind, the damage dealt both ways alot of times doesn't help me to get where I need to be to make a comeback. even ahead though sometimes prey upon just feels slow and doesn't it lose vs. death touch and have disadvantage with first strike or double strike? ps. thanks for these videos. you've gotten me back into magic.

Hey Dev, have you considered a budget RU improvise deck? My version has a few rares (rare dual lands & key to the city), but a budget version with no rares is possible & is pretty fun. Potential Turn one 4/4's are pretty cool, or turn 1 Mana Leak. Replenish your hand with Reverse Engineer. Protect your Artificers with toughness beyond 4 pretty easy with goggles. Pacification Array as removal. Your choice of extra removal from red or blue. In my sideboard, I have some rares in the Aetherflux Reservior + Paradoxical Outcome combo kill (with 12 zero CMC articacts.) I think the budget version is probably between $5-10. With Dual Lands it goes up, but you can play w/o them if you want.

Fun deck, Dev! Have you seen the Baraal Control/land destruction deck? I was absolutely wrecked by it last week. Uses Baraal to cast counters and land destruction on the cheap before switching to metallurgic summonings and torrential Gearhulk to close out the game. Don't know if I lost to the nut draw or if it's actually consistent but when it goes off... dang.
@JOEY224457 жыл бұрын
Eric Woodrum do you know a link or can show me this deck. been trying to put a land destroy deck together.
@EricWoodrum7 жыл бұрын
This is my best recollection of the deck. You can probably ignore the Sideboard (I just threw together a sideboard from a previous Izzet deck I'd built). For budget, you can sub-out the Torrential Gearhulks for three Curious Homunculus as a mana-dork and budget beater. www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/579057#paper
@EricWoodrum7 жыл бұрын
You can also substitute Void Shatters for Disallows if you don't have them, but they're good against the Saheeli Rai combo.
@EricWoodrum7 жыл бұрын
Fixed! Yeah, it's weird. Looking at it, it doesn't seem like it should work (most of the pieces start at 3 CMC), but with Baraal's cost reduction and card draw, it got chugging pretty quickly.
@hivefleethappiness73317 жыл бұрын
A couple bucks more could make this deck truly fantastic. Replace plated crusher with Decimator of the Provences. It is a fantastic finisher, especially with all your little guys you accumulate throughout the game getting +2/+2 and trample. Switch out Ulvenwald Captive for Deathcap Cultivator, just to get rid of the defender. Add Lifecraft's Bestiary X3. I put 2 in the main 1 in the board. It makes the deck much more consistent. Replace some forests with Blighted Woodland. (super cheap). It allows mana ramp in order to get to your Decimator. This thins your deck out nicely as well. Replace some more forests with spawning bed (also super cheap). You can use those spawns as another way to get Deathless Behemoth back into your hand, or you could crack it at the end of your opponents turn right before you cast Decimator. Those 3 spawns are now 3/3 trample, pseudo-hasty nerds that'll attack along with decimator FTW.

Love the deck, only thing i would say is less lands, theres so much ramp like you said. Past experiences, ive gone down to 18 lands in some decks, one most comes to mind was my standard GB(rtr/theros) highest dude was 4x shadowborn demon at 5 cmc, 2x jarad, golgari lich lord at 4cmc, and 4x nemesis of mortals at 6cmc went down so low cause i had playset of elvish mystics, grisly salvage, satyr wayfinder, and it never came back and bite me. Although the blighted green land shouldnt be added, just doesnt really do anything

Great deck, nut I think it could be better if you add a few copies of Kamatra's acolytes and Archetype of Endurance. If you would be willing to add rares to the deck, then Scute Mob makes for a very good 1 drop, Tornado elemental takes care of your opponents flying, Primeval Protector can ramp your creatures and could potentially come out on turn 4/5 or even sooner, and finally siege behemoth would be great so that your can deal damage to your opponent(s) even if they block. Even if you know what most of these cards do, I highly recommend looking them up.
@visi0n4ry7 жыл бұрын
Where do you get your cards from? Cuz this exact same deck would cost me $10,70, without lands + the cost of the sideboard.
@johnm.oyerbides52517 жыл бұрын
Dev - Made a couple changes to the deck: traded out the deathless behemoths for 1 verdurous gearhulk (all I own), and 3 nature's ways. took out 2 natural obsolescences, 1 prey upon, and the 1 plated crusher from the sideboard put in 4 commencement of festivities. Went 2-2-1 at FNM. I was in every match, very competitive. A couple bad draws from winning another match. I think even with the 1 gearhulk the price is still budget. The gearhulk just gives another nice trampler. Trample is a winner for the deck. I shut down copy cat with commencement of festivities. My opponent mad a gazillion cats, they attacked, and I prevented combat damage. Funny I was holding 2 commencements at the time and my next draw was another. I just asked him if he had any counter magic, he said no, I showed him the remaining two commencements, and he scooped. Awesome fun!
@randallferguson19817 жыл бұрын
I'm just wondering but would blisterpod be an acceptable addendum to this deck? I seen a comment complaining there aren't enough scion makers for the beheamoth synergy. Lmk
@naejin7 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend probably dropping 1 or 2 copies of Deathless Behemoth, as the ability to recur from your graveyard might be difficult since you only have 4 cards that can create scions to sacrifice to recur it. And the chance that you're going to want to sacrifice those scions for mana reduces the chances of having them available for recurring Deathless Behemoth. Then you could use those 1 or 2 slots for something else. Maybe another green removal, some card draw, or something else.
