Hello everyone and welcome. A lot of you have expressed your disinterest in watching this video because of slower game actions. Would you have me take the entire video down and just not put out content? It’s getting to a point where it’s not even economical to produce videos if people are just going to complain. I’m literally ONE person. I don’t have a team. I don’t write or script out any videos. What you see is the raw footage of folks sitting down and playing games with one another. This is also The Cookout. It’s where people who look like us can come through and go, “Oh there’s a channel I feel that represents me. Let me go check it out”. Honestly if you want to complain about watching a free video that you’re not paying for please just keep it to yourself. If you’d like to hop on Patreon and contribute to more production and filming then please do so. That’s the only way I’ll be able to continue doing episodes. I do all my own marketing, all the social media, everything that this channel has to offer is literally just me. I’m doing the best with what I have. When you complain about a free thing it really makes you look entitled. It’s free entertainment. If you don’t like it then just skip to something else please. No need to be rude or comment anything. This is my side job and a passion project. I’d like to continue but at this rate it’s becoming more of a hassle. Please consider all these things before you judge. Thank you.

Hey Joe appreciate all you do. Counter to what a lot of people have said I think a game with slower game actions and raw footage is great for helping people learn. Something that gets lost with the editing is how long it takes for people to think through their game actions. Appreciate you putting in the work and getting this content out. I also love that everyone in your pods is down for whatever people play. Even when one person is dominating the table everyone seems to be having fun and is working together through the stacks and abilities. There’s plenty of polished content out there for people who desire that and you are contributing something awesome to the community. Peace and love

While I can understand some frustration with the slow turns, that's a very real experience that happens at Magic tables. Not everybody has a handle on all of the optimal plays to make with their deck in every situation. You're capturing what the tabletop is like. Table talk and banter are some of the things people love about your channel, but when it's this type of table talk and banter, suddenly it's no good? 🙄 Don't let the internet get you down.

I love seeing someone brutalize a table with a steal-deck, and everyone is still okay with it and having fun! So refreshing to see your groups tolerance for nastiness. As a fellow Empress Galina and Sen Triplets (with Memnarch in the 99) player I'm probably in the minority of viewers who really enjoyed this episode.

Unless comments are being deleted, I haven't seen a single comment flaming her. It's possible to express a negative feeling about a VIDEO without it being a personal attack or judgment on the PEOPLE. This is a very important distinction. The overreaction to like 2 or 3 comments is wild to me. It's okay to have a bad video once in a while. Nobody is being personally attacked here.

Why Joe didn’t tap his Saga in response so don’t let her make a 10/10 construct right there. He seemed more interested in giving her a cool construct token since he wasn’t going to need it…

He seemed more interested in giving her a cool construct token since he wasn’t going to need it… so she had 2! Also you couldn’t attack with both because 1 had summoning sickness. You have infinite mana & thinking about saga for Sol Ring? 🤔. With everything out & not winning either this deck is to complicated or it is just missing something….

Man I remember when this used to be one of my favorite channels, but now this shit has just fallen off. It was painful watching Ellie bumbling through her turns while Joe had to help walk her through her own deck while feeding her artifacts . If you're going to play a deck like Memnarch at least know what you're doing. Also when you played Tezzeret you could have searched up Treasure Vault for free to filter your infinite colorless into treasures and win. Or Mirage Mirror. Meanwhile she monopolized pretty much all the time while Devin and DeQuan basically didn't get to do shit... which is nothin new bc Devin pretty much always sits there with his cool deck not getting to do anything because the power levels of your guests skill and decks are wildly inconsistent and mismatched, yet you call it cEDH. The pods need better balance. I used to look up to you Joe and I thought you were cool. I remember when you won the spot on the Command Zone to be the special guest and I followed your rise after that. You were the best part of IHYD and always a solid player and known threat. But after watching TTJ for a while I have lost interest and am disappointed, you keep company with the likes of Cassius Marsh who acts like a salty, bitter manchild when he doesn't get to combo off and crush everyone on turn 3. Nothing wrong with competitive spirit, but he's just a sore winner and loser and has been rude to other guest multiple times, especially to Gabe that one game with Joe M on Tiamat. Unacceptable behavior from someone that has a great platform in this community. You need more guests like Higher and Michael Crits back because they are incredibly competitive, but super well articulate and respectful while doing it. They teach others and are humble.

@@altered_beast_of_burden I’ve ran this channel by myself since jump. Everyone who has come on the channel knows the expectations and brings the deck they feel best fits that criteria. I don’t have time to go over every single deck and what people’s knowledge is over it because I assume if they are bringing it then they know how to pilot it. You seem to have a lot of opinions about how I’m running my channel and you are very wrong if you think anyone is disrespecting anyone else because we are all friends. If you’re not having fun I invite you to seek another channel if you aren’t but being wildly accusatory about something you don’t know about I feel is the disrespectful part. Friends get together and play games. It’s fun to us. If you’re not having fun then go find it elsewhere please. There was really no point to your entire rant. Next time just keep it to yourself and quietly move on. I’m doing the best that I can with what I have and I don’t believe you’re a Patreon member so you’re watching the content for free and not giving back. Maybe more folks like you with all these complaints could chip in and help out with the financial aspect and maybe I could produce more content. If you are here getting content for free you have no right to complain.

I still love this channel and the guests here were great, but this was not an enjoyable watch at all. Ellie's turns took literally more than half the runtime of this entire video, and most of that wasn't even solitaire, it was just stumbling through the combos that were already on-board. I had to watch on 1.5x and it was still boring. I get that games like this happen sometimes, maybe she hadn't played the deck in a while or whatever. Not judging. But still wanted to say that this is definitely not one of your best episodes.
@TabletopJocks

@@Hemlocker “Not judging.”? That’s literally all you just did. It’s a non solicited opinion for a game that you watched for free. If I’m being honest just move on and keep it to yourself in the future instead of going on a rant like this. If it wasn’t your jam then it wasn’t your jam. Other people enjoyed it. We had fun. It’s a game amongst friends and that’s what happens. I don’t have the luxury of choreographing games or scripting things out. I’m one person. I don’t have a team. I hire a staff to film with me and I pay an editor. Whatever comes out is what comes out. This is also the reason why I do episodes like this is because people have a platform that look like me. Maybe just think the next time before you do judge because it’s exactly what you did. I don’t have help like the rest of the bigger channels and I’m on my own. I’m doing all the social media, all the promoting, everything you see from TTJ is 100% me.

@@TabletopJocks I've been enjoying your channel since the very first video, and I will continue to do so. I am still an active Patreon supporter. I've expressed my enjoyment many, many times, including against all the anti-Cassius crybabies etc. I simply expressed that the experience of watching this particular video was not good. By "not judging" I meant that I'm not judging any of the people in the video or you as a creator. I was judging the video, not the people.
