I guess. I'm just really attached to Werewolves and Vamps. I spent SO much time brewing them to near perfection, so I try my best to share my experience with the archetypes in hopes that someone grows the figurative balls to take them to a major tourney as I think they could make top 8 with a skilled pilot behind the wheel.

I've found Uncaged Fury to work extremely well in werewolf decks, thanks to their combination of passive buffs and easy Trample access. It gives you incredible spike damage from out of nowhere. If you have one or two buffs online, Uncaged Fury can easily turn let you blast a massive amount of damage past a chump blocker, save your creature from a stronger blocker, or just outright win the game with 14-18 damage if a creature goes unblocked.

One of my favorite combos with my Wolf deck is Turn 1: Kessig Prowler Turn 2: Waxing Moon, swing for 4 Turn 3: Caged Fury, swing for 8! Its not the most OP move but 12 damage by turn 3 is pretty good especially if i've gone first. And it gets them on the fence early.
@kultakarva28 жыл бұрын
Eldrazi werewolfs (Ulvenwald Captive, Smoldering Werewolf...) + Waxing moon is also a good choice. And they don't flip back. With SOI werewolves my problem is them flipping back before my next turn. Also Savage Alliance is a good option fo this deck.

Have you considered running a couple of Neglected Heirlooms? It's a bit janky a card, but +3/+3 with first strike is crazy handy in some matchups (plus equipping Lambholt allows her to swing). Similar way that spending Duskwatch's mana on it's ability makes it feel like you've done stuff without messing up transform triggers, moving around the equipment was handy for that too.
@FozzyWozzy12038 жыл бұрын
This deck though! Now my wolf deck is a bit more aggroey but I kinda like your version a bit more! I like the ability to transform (yes I said it) into a slightly more aggro deck after sideboard if needed! Definitely going to be making some changes!

Waxing moon can transform Prowlers and Captives on the cheap later in the game. That's what I use it for in my deck, anyway.
@alexanderstojanow37738 жыл бұрын
I built wedges mono green wolf deck with a little variation. i agree fully on the partisan. this is the card i almost always side out, it is especially bad against other aggro things because it feels odd to play a 3/3 two drop an then only a 2/2 three drop without immediate upside. i acutally kinda despise duskwatch a little because evertime i activate him to not loose mana, i put down a howlpack resurgence or a moonlight hunt that i would have needed much more than another pacifist or partisan. i also include neglected heirloom against mid range decks because a turn one heirloom, turn two pacifist into a turn for equip waxing moon is just amazing. especially if you do this as a reaction to a grasp.
@SBMTG8 жыл бұрын
Yeah but with that play I feel like when the pacifist does get removed, you spent your whole first three turns (the most crucial turns in the game) doing essentially nothing. Even if you hit the opponent once before they remove it, they didn't actually take ridiculous damage, and now they can stabilize easily against what is basically a naked board (save for Heirloom).

Just a lil bit of feedback on how you do these decktechs ... I would like to suggest you also include a shot of the mana-curve of the deck; mostly because i think this gives newer players a better understanding of what they should be looking for when building their own deck. Yes i know you generally follow the mana curve when doing the decktech, but actually seeing the amount of drops per converted mana cost does give a bit of extra information that pays itself forward over time ... And to put in a bit more to talk about, when addressing the mana curve, could be to put in an overview of the 'actual mana curve', with 'actual' i mean an overview of the amount of cards you are likely to play on each consecutive turn, at which point you can also point out some of the cards one should plan to play 'a bit later' ... So, in essence you would make a slide with 3 rows, the top row designates the converted mana cost, and then you have a row of the mana-curve of the deck, and below that a row for the 'actual mana curve'. At which point you can point out which cards are 'planned' to play a bit later. Both i think, like said, would help people understand deckbuilding (and the deck being showcased) better, and over time newer players will likely pick up on the way the decks are constructed curve wise, and use that to construct better decks themselves ... ... ... Also, yo, i missed yo raps at the start of the spoiler vids, yo! ^^ ... ... and lastly, just to check if you truely read all the comments :p , will you be doing a deck tech about the 'present' i send you for your birthday, or is the deck just to poop in your opinion, please let me know in the comments, because if you don't then i would like to just plop the deck in the comment section at an opportune moment ... tnx, for your time reading, and any time spend to respond, looking forward to the next one.

@rossgauld64218 жыл бұрын
How come you haven't gone for the popular combo of Zada/Mirrorwing+Silverfur?
@SBMTG8 жыл бұрын
It's too fragile a combo, and it requires a lot of setup (partisan has to not get removed for two turns, Zada has to go a whole turn without getting killed). If they see you setting it up, they will knock it down. It also requires that we dedicate a ton of deck space to pump spells (at least 8 slots), so the whole deck begins to focus on the combo. TL;DR: that combo is bad.
@rossgauld64218 жыл бұрын
+Strictly Better MtG but if you just kept the deck the same, added Zada even if it was just a piece to either force them to remove it or you can pump it, and all your guys. It doesn't necessarily need to be a combo piece, it's just something that works well in a creature heavy deck
@jonstephenson66658 жыл бұрын
+Strictly Better MtG actually this one is fixed somewhat by playing the mirrorwing then the silverfur and a cheap spell or 2 (expedite being my pick) on the following turn. Still a little fragile but nearly game breaking if you can pull it off.

How are you not running the card that flips them? That thing is crazy good!
@BlaineTog8 жыл бұрын
It's only really good if you cast it turn 2 to flip a Kessig Prowler. Otherwise, you're better off either not casting any spells for a turn (for SOI werewolves) or paying the flip cost (for EMN wolves).
@Dan_D3808 жыл бұрын
Kessig prowler? Really? That's the only one you can think of? Smh. You don't play wolves enough if that's the only good target you can think of. Ulvenwald Captipve becomes a 4/6. You know how hard it is to kill a 4/6 for most decks on turn 3? lmao What about Gier reich bandit? She flips any other wolf that comes into play. You flip her on turn 4 then flip the Alpha wolf on turn 5 and it turns into all sorts of shanigans. Shrill Prowler anyone? If you don't play that card and you're relying on waiting to flip them naturally you take away the whole point of playing wolves lol Pretty much all the wolves become nasty when you flip them. Oh! it also gives them trample... It's an amazing card for the tribe.
@Dan_D3808 жыл бұрын
And Arlin Cord isn't nearly as good for the deck as Waxing Moon. Just sayin.
@SBMTG8 жыл бұрын
Lol Waxing Moon is better than Arlinn? Must be a troll. Nobody could actually think that for realsies. I tried a two-of Waxing Moon in the main, and it's just a dead card like 30% of the time, which is way too often
@Freddy96LP8 жыл бұрын
Arlinn is insane for the deck with her flipped +1/ultimate to just close out games. Ulvenwald Captive is too slow for the deck, imo - you don't really need to run a defender mana-dork, you want to build up turn by turn, possibly skip one, then hit with some trample - ideally a mix of Neckbreaker, Resurgence and Arlinn.
@MrDylanBWi8 жыл бұрын
Hey, I was just wondering. Could I make the argument that Kessig Forgemaster is good against aggro since it burns away small creatures. As well as medium sized ones when she flips? @SBMTG8 жыл бұрын
We're trying to be as aggressive as possible, and those don't quite fit the plan. Captive is a card I like a lot, but we're not trying to ramp so he feels out of place
@SBMTG8 жыл бұрын
Oh and I've noticed a lot of love for Waxing Moon in the comments. That card is just not as good as people seem to think it is. I tried it in the main for a while and it sat dead in my hand 30% of the time. It's good in some situations, but the point of an aggro deck is to generate initiative by dropping something threatening every turn. So if we go, for example, turn 2 Captive, turn 3 Waxing Moon to flip him, you haven't actually increased your board presence, generated initiative, or been proactive - it's much more important that you just play another guy on turn 3. Waxing Moon was, I admit, really good with Ulrich, but that's such a late-game play that you could probably get away with just a 1-of Waxing Moon in the main and be fine. The last thing I'll say: I know you specifically didn't bring this up, but I want to make it clear that THIS IS NOT WEDGE'S DECK. His was mono-green, ours is two-colors, so we have access to more cards, meaning Waxing Moon isn't as necessary, especially considering we can run Geier Reach Bandit in this deck. Whew. That was a lot sorry
@Ash-zw9ds8 жыл бұрын
Honestly Dev, I like your channel better than wedges for one simple reason, you think outside the magic box lol, on a side note any way your going to retool e e angels to include some of the new stuff like the gearhulks? There's a really cool white and green one coming down the assembly line.

@HellDeradoify8 жыл бұрын
clear shot is an ok one. rabid bite and prey upon are sorcery speed which makes a big difference. plus prey upon lets the opponents dude hit yours back which can make for super feel bads. stick with moonlight hunt, its easier to hold mana up for it with the 2 cmc as opposed to clear shot at 3 cmc. not to mention moonlight can easily remove 5-6 toughness threats, clear shot is much less likely to be able to do so.
