The Princess Peach of standard this deck is. Really hope we see some more punches in Green from Rivals. Resilient Khenra makes this deck amazing, but we really need something that's cheaper with hexproof or maybe conditional or optional removal cards like Abrade in Green. Like "target creature you control fights target creature you don't control/ destroy target artifact" or something. idk. Just thinkin. Great video Dev!

Been piloting this deck at my LGS over the past month or so, it's a blast to play with and can easily run over energy/control decks but Ramunap Red is definitely its toughest matchup. I prefer to run boardwipes in the SB - Settle, Fumigate and Dusk // Dawn are all great options considering the number of indestructible/eternalize creatures the deck has. (Dawn also resurrects almost all of its creatures!) Ajani Unyielding and Gideon of the Trials are worth a shot in the sideboard too - it's pretty fun to swing in with an Appealed indestructible Gideon every now and then, and Ajani being able to Swords their threat or refill your hand can swing the game in grindier matchups.

Karl McGuirk Ajani seems like a very high mana cost. Doesn't Cast Out take care of everything you want to blow up with Ajani except instant speed, cycling and 4 mana? Gideon seems like a defensive guy which is a little odd in aggro, isn't it?

David Kadonsky Cast Out and Ixalan's Binding are better removal options for sure, which is why I only run one copy of Ajani in the SB. Post-board this deck can easily shift to more of a mid-range style, and that's where Ajani shines. His casting cost has never been an issue for me with this deck. Yeah Gideon is generally a defensive card but his 0 ability to become an indestructible 4/4 works great in an aggro strategy, especially if you can pump him with Larger than Life or Appeal // Authority. Or if you want to hang back and build up your board for a giant Appeal win, his +1 helps massively.

Appeal//Authority is the sweetest card with Adorned Pouncer, I play it in my Cat deck and swinging in with a 6/6 Doublestrike Trample Lifelink Vigilance Cat is such a good feeling.

Great video as always I faced this deck in a local PPTQ recently and I played the GP Portland winning list of temur and I won a close 3 game match. The deck is really fast and can do huge chunks of dmg outta nowhere. Dev you should do a video on the jund ramp deck with sandwurm convergence and hour of promise and star of extinction. I just went 4-0 and then 3-1 at 2 local standard showdowns this week. Deck is sweet!!!!!

Would you consider running copies of Majestic Myriarch in this deck? With so many good keywords and a go wide plan you could surprise win with an Appeal // Authority and Blossoming Defense.

Kyle Dudak Myriarch really needs flying or trample to be effective and only Sunwing and Appeal // Authority give you those abilities so it's often just going to be chump blocked indefinitely. In general, Myriarch is a tough card to use effectively, because it's only useful if you already have a creature with evasion on the board. If you already have a creature with evasion, you're already swinging in for damage. That Myriarch could probably be any efficient flier or trampling fattie and have a similar effect with the same boardstate. Using an efficient flier or fattie provides more utility in a boardstate that's less advantageous. It's flashy and tons of fun, so you should definitely play it if you like your monsters. We play the game to have fun, after all. If you're looking for tournament tuned decks, though, it's a good example of a win more card.

silverfordston6ify 3 mana is a high cost in aggro for a card that doesn't immediately affect the board. Perhaps more importantly, there's no good use for the mana. The deck simply can't do anything effective with 8 to 10 mana.

Mark Niedomys Its primary usefulness is the ability to outlast aggro thanks to the lifelink. Without a need to rely on the life cost of Adanto or Vona, lifelink just isn't all that relevant. If you're facing down a lot of aggro in your meta, the Aethersphere Harvesters are probably the better bet.

Matt Fenner no as the Khendra entering is a state based action. So the game checks its power upon entering. That would resolve then you could gain priority.

Yeah, etb is a trigger that goes on the stack. It's power may be checked as a state based action, but I don't think so.

Simply Yes, You can respond to your own trigger here. The X is checked when the trigger resolves. If the creature is removed then X will be last known state of the creature. So if you have a +10 on it it will give +10 even if removed. If the power is less than Zero tho you will get nothing. If they .... Say Grasp of Darkness the creature... Some how give it -4/-4 to kill it with the trigger on the stack, it will leave the battle field with Zero power or less and you will get that added instead. Lucky only thing in standard that can do this is soul scar mage and strike/abrade/shock.

Gareth M It's straight aggro instead of midrange or control. It simply doesn't pull its weight. You pay three mana and get nothing. To break even, you have to be getting more than 3 power out of this in an aggro deck which means you have to have four creatures after you drop it. That's a pretty big ask from a deck that is emptying its hand so early.

I feel like the sun wing and Oketra don’t do too much in the current meta- instead I run Angel of Invention (x2), main board cast outs, and a 2/2 split between Renegade Rallier and Fairgrounds Warden. It’s strange that this channel isn’t bigger. The thirst for non-drama MTG channels should be pretty intense by now, given that almost all the big names have made asses of themselves (at least, depending on your perspective, half of them). Perhaps a camera and/or editing style upgrade might bring in the youth? Not that I think there’s much wrong with any of those, but there clearly should be a couple of extra zeros at the end of that subscriber number. Either way, it’s awesome to see a knowledgeable dude with a great attitude talk about Magic without feeling like I’m watching some theatrical interpretation of the DSM spiced up with every American Culture War cliche in the book. For the record, I think no-one should insult others for no reason (even if the insulting party happens to ”be right” about one issue or another), but also that free-speech (including controversial political views) is important and should not be curtailed by online bullying. When I post that here, it feels completely off-topic, which is as it should be. I play Magic not to discuss your SJW/AltRight views and my immense approval or dislike thereof, but because it’s a great way to personally escape and interpersonally perhaps for a while transcend shit like that and just have fun for a few hours. How about Old-Growth Dryads? Yeah, it ramps the other side, but if we are going fast aggro a 3/3 1-drop is good... better than most anything they'll play with 2 mana on turn 1. Compare to Wanted Scoundrels in Pirates?

Yeah as Stavros said, sadly the fact that it puts a land into the battlefield for your opponent for free means that it defeats its own purpose in being a strong low drop creature. Normally strong low drop creatures are good because they have big stat lines early in the game, but if you ramp your opponent then it isn't early game for them anymore. If you drop Dryads on turn one, your opponent will untap with a land already on the battlefield and then they can play a land drop and cast any of the many two drop removal spells in the format, all of which can kill Dryads. It's a shame too. If Dryads only put the land into your opponent's hand instead of the battlefield it would be excellent.

Yeah Appetite just hits more important things. Personally I think I would go with Forsake the Worldly because it not only has cycling if you happen to not need it, but it also exiles instead of destroying so they can't get their gearhulk or Gift back with Refurbish.
