I will be absolutely picking up this set, I am a pure commander player, and never got into standard because the complexity of picking up cards to try different decks and the COST. This HOPEFULLY, fixes those two problems and makes it much more approachable and fun to try out and play.

Thank you for checking out the video and leaving a comment. We are really interested in knowing how long you have been playing? We hope that Foundations will be a good and fun product and especially for people wanting to get into standard, like yourself, who have previously been hesitant to do so.

Core sets were always my favorite. For 2 reasons. They were easier to play- especially when I was trying to teach my son, and now daughter. It's so difficult to learn current magic, these sets were a bit easier. The other reason were the reprints. Core sets were great to have older cards and give a nostalgic feel to the game. It was great seeing cards I used to play with 20 years ago return. However, these were for the most part where the reprints were. With the release of master sets and the current business model, cards are reprinted all the time. Even cards that are only a few years old get reprinted 2-4 times. So the place for reprints in the core sets lost its luster for me. I am undecided if I will get any of the foundations. We are playing Bloomburrow and my 11 year old daughter is doing OK with it, even though it is complicated. Bloomburrow will take us a while to go through our box, and in November my son and I will be fully into Arthurian Legends. But foundations will be around for a while so we can always return to it.

Core Sets were also the way a lot of people got into the game, because they just were a bit easier to get into and were a good product for new players. It seems like Foundations wants to go the same route with providing staples as well as new cards, but I agree that we are seeing so many reprints that I am not sure there is a space for the product right now. Bloomburrow feels like a really good set to start with for kids, but in terms of the art and theme, even though there might still be some trickier mechanics, I think the enjoyment of the set gives the kids motivation to keep going and keep learning. Like you said, Foundation will be here for a while, so no rush, and that fact is also very interesting to see how the sales will do, with it being in rotation for so long. We are unbelievably excited for Arthurian Legends, and especially SPIEL after seeing all the cool events that the Sorcery team have planned!

I am very skeptical on this product, just because I am so tired of having all of the different variants of cards. It gets tough when set collecting. I am still trying to finish my Phyrexia All Will Be One set and there are 12 versions of Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines alone.... Thanks for the awesome videos you guys! Keep up the great work!

Yeah, collecting full sets in Magic has become quite the feat, so many variants to account for and Elesh Norn really hammered that point hard! Thank you so much for checking out the video and we truly appreciate the kind words! 🙏🏻

🤔 I worry if new players are going to be ripped off

I think the two first products look decent in price, but we will have to wait and see more cards, before we can see what the value of the product will be. 😉
