I know it’s a shot in the dark competitively, but I like Izzet. It’s just fun to do things, and it’s a great guild for those of us torn between agro red and blue control (resulting in a midrange deck that just does.... stuff).

Boros looks the strongest for pre-release for me but I'm going with selesnya 😊

Naw, aggro is almost never good for limited because it runs out of steam and isn't reliable enough without the constructed part of constructed. This also has to do with "turn expectancy." Aggro does not kill early in limited because it's inconsistent. And so it starts getting to where you're playing big bombs that compete with/overpower aggro cards. Ranking is probably Selesnya>Golgari>Dimir>Boros>Izzet. Though Izzet might even be better than Boros because it's more flexible, though it doesn't have... Basically ANY bombs for limited.

@@Monkeyshaman a problem I had while looking at dimir was that it NEEDS a good secondary color. The color itself lacks any form of kill power (even the fliers are lackluster and get traded easily) and relies too heavily on single target removal. It'll get stomped by faster decks, unless it does get that secondary pool to stabilize the creature base.

@@ebbandfloatzel if you're dead set on a dimir deck you can probably hammer out a decent grixis with a esper fallback postboard. The last time we had shocks detention spheres and rakdos (separately for most all of limited) ruled the format shaping standard well into khans. Spot removal is fine in limited and most of it in izzet is recursive and the stuff in black is additive so you'll probably have enough, given your pool leans towards those colors. selesnya is actually getting good splash support from boros.

Alex Kendall I went to the Friday and Saturday preleases and doesnt matter what guild you ran, if you ended up getting enough Boros cards you went Boros. They won about 90% of the games. Small 1/1s and flyers get big hella quick with that Mentor ability.

I'm excited for the pre-release that I'm attending tomorrow. As I'm definitely going to attempt to build Boros Legion if I can. Not quite to hopefully attempt to win because aggro can be hit or miss, but mostly to have fun. Cause part of playing magic is the fun of just playing colors you enjoy. As I love Red/White due to it being my favorite color pairing thus I am very much a Boros player/guild member.

I ran a Naya deck with the Boros prerelesse kit. I only stayed two rounds but easily won both. I've been playing a Dimir deck on MTG Arena with the cards I was able to pull using the free draft code. Went 7-2 in the draft and have been doing well after modifying it a little in quick constructed games.

I ran Izzet. Was hoping for Golgari or Boros, but didn't get to stay long. Had to get back to family. Did really well with Izzet. Didn't splash anything, but focused on the JumpStart and it's pretty sweet. Love your videos!

When we do multiple prereleases at my store. We actually get to pick two guilds to spread out over the 4 events during the weekend. I picked Golgari (my favorite guild and to finish my newly brewed Sultai deck) and Boros because it looks strong in sealed and the cards have aggro potential in standard. :D

I hope to play Boros. I usually always try to build RW decks at pre-release events. Red aggro with white removal usually does well. My all-time best RW combo I pulled at a pre-release was Trove of Temptation and Axis of Mortality. The look on my opponents faces was priceless each time.

Hey, very informing video. It’s nice gonna be nice to go into my first sealed event of this set with a little bit of knowledge. I’d have to say that my favorite guild out of these 5 is golgari, and not just for the assassin’s trophy! I’ve always loved capitalizing on your graveyard, because it’s such an odd thing to want, which makes the synergies so rewarding. That being said, I probably won’t be running golgari at the prerelease, because most of the cards come in a little too late to make a difference. I’ll most likely run dimir, because surveil is so amazing, on top of some pretty great removal. During the weekly drafts, you’ll probably find me running selesnya or Boros because I can’t get enough of those agro decks and huge fatties. Thanks for the vid!

Hope not too late. My favorite guild is Orzhov. White black is my favorite color pair. I played Golgari at my prerelease and had a blast with undergrowth. Being able to some someone in the head for 8 or more with the Giant just feels right.

So I decided to go with Boros. My prerelease kit was less than spectacular, with no major rares and no mythic rares. My son's pack was about the same as far as big excitement cards. He stayed true to his colors and stayed Selesnya. Once the dust settles from the first round fights, we had a very uncharacteristic amount of ties with at least 7 games tied and all of the going to turns. We even had two matches that finished only one or three. All in all, my son and I both went 2-0-1 and great fun was had. The guilds are great fun and have a descent balance of power in limited.
