+Ardite140 Drana seems to be a rather powerful and significant vampire progenitor. We'll have to see what happens with her. Part of me hopes that they pull a Narset and make a plainswalker of her, so we have two vampire lord plainswalkers.

Innistrad is by far my favourite Plane in MTG so far. I want to make a mono-white deck based on Thraben's humans and Angels and then a mono black vampire deck. Eventually...

holyordersol Our dear host often messes up on pronunciations. Just look for the correct one on official websites and wiki pages. Our host's research skills are superb though.

Stensia is Red and Black. The Falkenrath vampires are more Red-aligned.

+Nicholas DiMauro I tried to run my red/black vamps at my lgs, but it got stomped on BAD by removal. Not even my shadow alley denizens and other fairly basic 1-drops could stay on the field without being removed, let alone Bloodline Keeper, my one copy of Mirri, the cursed, and nighthawk. That said, I was playing against splinter twin, eternal witness/kitchen finks/collected company the deck and venser/eternal witness/other combo stuff the deck, so they managed to keep popping paths or counters constantly. I love that deck for non-tournament play, since it's much more powerful than most casual decks, (even the best of them) but it just can't quite make it into modern for me for some stupid reason.

Drana is out there, but who knows if she'll fit into the mold. Perhaps for the +1/+1 variant of vampires, she'll be very powerful, but for my style, which doesn't rely on counters at all--rather just straight up murdering your face--she's not really useful.
