Yes you can have more then 1 king of the pride. A pride is a group of lions each pride has a king. Also some prides are ruled by 2 or more kings. Usually brothers from the same litter that stuck together after being kicked out of the pride by the king.

There's a few cat 1 drops I'd consider; The once banned wild nacatl is a cat, maybe fitting in a triome or red source can help turn it on. It would also maybe help some prismatic endings if you want some of those in the sideboard. Sacred cat is a 1/1 lifelink with embalm, so it effectively has flashback. But yeah after that most of them are either unplayable or are landfall based. Can't wait to see how the games shape up!

Loam Lion is great, however Wild Nacatl is the best

Only problem with Nacatl is that you must run at least one triome in order to play it... or one off-color shockland. One or the other doesn't enable any other card in this deck so having that off-color to get one extra power from Nacatl is simply not worth it.

@@WitherFang you splash red for Unholy Heat, Nacatl, and maybe Lightning Bolt. A 3/3 for 1 is still good, even in this meta.

@@magusofthebargain That's automatically 8 spots(non creature) that you can't hit with CoCo and one of the 4 spots will most likely only deal 2 damage. You ask to rebuild this whole list just to enable a 3/3 for 1. I'd rather ignore 1 power for efficency and not having to run three colors with heavy fetching. PS: Wild Nacatl will only enter as a 2/2 unless you play it t2 but that's one turn wasted to potentially fetch a triome, or you fetch shock temple garden to play it as a 2/2, then next turn to fetch shock or shock stomping ground/sacred foundry for it to be a 3/3. You must shock those lands to be able to play on curve... that's already 4-6 life spent to play a 2/2 for 1 that turns into a 3/3 on t2 when you play your 2nd land.

@@WitherFang You are correct, and would cut CoCo if you went this route. Yes it is a rebuild just to enable a 3/3 for 1, and if you don't feel like having to run three colors with heavy fetching, I totally understand. I also feel more comfortable playing a 2-color deck, but regardless of how we feel, the 3-color option may be the best. That said, the last time I played CATS! in Modern was waaay before MH2 or even MH1. CoCo is a great card... do we want Ragavan instead of Unholy Heat?

@@magusofthebargain That way we might as well dismiss cats altogether I'm afraid. Honestly, Nacatl can't compete with other potential 3/3's for 1 in modern anymore. I would say that it's best to run Ragavan over Nacatl OR Loam lion if we go 3 colors and don't play those 1drop cats at all. I can't see Cats being a cat deck at all if we run 3 colors.

my mono-white modern cats slaaap this deck into next week. my build runs all the best white cats with sword of fire and ice, light and shadow and feast and famine along with slagwurm armor because most modern decks in my local meta are aggro based and cannot answer a 4/10 protection from two colors with flying when I have dispatch and reciprocate as well as pacifism and o ring. Mono-white cats is a lot better than anyone realizes!!!

3x Pacifism 4x Path To Exile 4x Steelshaper's Gift 3x Ajani's Pridemate 3x Leonin Arbiter 1x Regal Caracal 3x Slagwurm Armor 2x Trained Caracal 1x Sword of light and shadow 1x Sword of fire and ice 1x Sword of feast and famine 4x King Of The Pride 4x Charmed Stray 4x Sacred Cat 22x plains board: 3x leyline of sanctity 3x ghostly prison 3x oblivion ring 3x rest in peace 3x suppression field mind you, this is slapping people in my LOCAL meta who's decks aren't as optimal but this 3 color cat deck is seeing play since it's cheap and I am putting slagwurm armor on a cat with lifelink, chumping all aggro creature decks that can't get power over 6 by turn 3 so the life gain keeps me in the game. Pacify the biggest threats that have no ability beyond their buff, such as wild nac or a loam lion or you simply chump them out to a 1/7 cat with lifelink while you stave them off while you get your win cons. it slooowwws down the meta in my LGS but honestly people think the deck is cool so no one's mad about it :)

@@killer429 my other deck is called "sword dorks" and it's RUW ramp/swords/counters but I liked the new King Of The Pride and decided to make a lifelink cat deck, got top 3 last time :) only lost to goblins cause Krenko be a beefy boi.
