I am quite happy that the only exposure to anything MTG I still entertain is a bunch of KZbinrs, namely Des and Purp. WotC has ruined a great thing so thoroughly, it's almost impressive.

I’m pretty sure they didn’t use the term “unsportsmanlike”is because it’s WotC newspeak, it contains the word “man” and is therefore not gender neutral and “offensive”.

Info on the dark rit special bribe worthy prize “And that player will head home with an elusive and beautiful variation of Dark Ritual featuring the artwork of Wizard of Barge.” … wtf is wizard of Barge? Am I the only one who thinks a special Dark Ritual for a prize is trash, regardless it’s a 1 of 4?

Apparently Wizard of Barge is the artist name. The artist who did that Ooze secret lair and others. I can’t stand the art style tho. Plus that name Wizard of Barge is annoying af lol.

I was there at GenCon 2024. I find the fact someone cheated hilarious since they warned people over the intercom NOT to do things like bribe or collude. Some things there definitely left a very bad and sour taste in my mouth (especially some cosplays that were just ick at best), but my friend is wanting to go next year (That's pretty much the only reason I did and would go again, though some of the things he said help me realize he's still a sane normal person). The non-magic events I went to were fun, at least. I'm not surprised that MTG is having so much trouble still. They had signs posted saying that harassment in any form wouldn't be tolerated. Something tells me people are going to just get more and more sensitive and the scope of "harassment" is going to become slightly disagreeing with opinions. Also, if you're into some funny but unique games, I got one called Bananya that's pretty fun.

Yeah, this is why i switched to ygo. The community over there are right now throwing a fit because the prizes are pretty much nonexistent, but hey, its very VERY rare to have cheaters hailed as pros. In mtg is like every other week

I know one judge from pastimes in indy. he is the most honest guy I know. too honest really. their tournaments are full of cheater so I guess we can judge them by their work, but maybe it is a case of choir boys trying to police convicts.
