I just wanted to make a suggestion to you guys for your Esper midrange deck. I’ve taken out 1 Preacher of Schism and added 1 Three Steps Ahead for the main. For the sideboard I added 2 Duresses and took out 1 Rest in Peace and the 1 The End. I’ve been having more trouble from ramp decks and control decks than other decks. The 1 The End hasn’t really been of much help to me and it’s only ok in midrange matchups but it’s still replaceable. Trading in a Rest in peace and The End for Duress has helped me a ton. Along with the addition of the additional Three steps ahead; this card replacing No More Lies is a must. It’s a story I just made, but I hope you guys read it lol. Even if you disagree I appreciate you guys.

Haven't honestly had much opportunity to mess with it yet. It's a strong raw concept, but the lack of early interaction and reliance on game-plan A (graveyard based ramp) has me nervous with all the hate present. - Riktus

I’ve found new success in golgari trading out sheoldred for sorin and archfiend of the Dross. The list overall feels more like a beatdown than anything else. Sorin really facilitates that by helping you find land drops for a plus one is great and if you do want to add that removal card to hand it’s 1-2 damage to draw a card. His ultimate is also fabulous and had closed out or turned many games around. He’s also out performed Lilliana in my eyes, gaining a loyalty for drawing a card just works better than discarding especially in midrange. If I have a frilback, Gix’s Command and nissa in hand I really do not want to voluntarily discard. Bitter triumph is also performing really well, completely replaced my copy of assassins trophy with it. I mean taking three life so you don’t take 9 off a slick shot just works. Also its ability to hit planeswalkers is really great. I’ve found adding nissa back in helps frillback cover artefacts and enchantments well enough without the trophy.

Sorin is severely underrated for the threat it presents to Domain and Temur Ramp at a minimum. The ult is so dangerous for them. - Riktus

Oh this video applies to both. This is tracking one meta. We do not distinguish. The results include events from both digital and paper tournaments. We track based on top 8 appearances and trophy wins. -MAX

Unless you mean to say the two metas in general, then yes. They are quite distinct in many ways. Players are more willing to experiment in digital events. -MAX

I use soul guided lantern as grave hate in my deck. For 1 mana I can remove quickly something like underdog and wait for someone to try and and anylst and remove their grave after they sacrifice but before they get lands. And if they arent graveyard decks i can just cycle it for 2 mana which i would rather have than a useless enchantment on the field

I've been seeing the chatter about the Domain list so I looked it up, why is there a Imodane Recruiter in the mainboard? I can't see the connection or how it helps establish an edge against the meta.

Recruiter gives you a few pieces: 1. Uncounterable off a cavern naming human giving you a method of pushing haste. 2. Adventure side triggers beanstalk and is an army in a can. 3. Allows the play pattern of dropping herd migration into it for a quick 23-point swing. It's a strong push against midrange, control, Temur ramp and the mirror.

No. We base our results on all events overall and weigh based on the size and importance of the event. Though it achieved 2nd at the PT it did not achieve much else at all this past weekend. It did well in light of Esper being the majority deck at the PT. It did not do well outside that context. Domain on the other hand achieved 5 trophies total when you add up all the Standard events over the past week. Hope this explains our thinking with the tier list some. -MAX

I queued up tonight, 6 straight sets against domain. Cavern of souls or Atraxia need to go, it's just far too consistent of a ramp deck with the tools it has. Even tweaking Azorius control to counter just domain hasn't been enough. It's been a tier 1 deck for well over a year, the only time it wasn't was brief moments when folks got bored of it and tried other things. I'm over it, yeet this deck into the sun.

Yep, totally agree that it’s way too powerful. I asked for tips on Reddit about how to counter it and some people said 4 fields of ruin to get rid of the Cavern of Souls…so that you can counter Atraxa…well, that is ok I guess. At the moment though, I’m thinking Elish Norn seems to be the best thing against the deck….maybe 4 copies in sideboard? Also, long goodbye will not hit her.

The issue with Elesh Norn is that Domain often leaves in the full 4 Sunfalls, even in the mirror (due to Herd Migration). Domain is a puzzle without a simple solution. It requires specific overarching strategies (such as counter-tempo) to properly push back against it. - Riktus
