And at number 1, surprising no one, is Forest. Forest was first printed in Alpha, Magic's first set. While not as powerful as other cards on this list, Forest has been a staple in decks running green from Magic's beginning. With a points lead of all the points, it will be a while before Forrest looses it's place at the top spot.

9:09 You misspoke slightly, GSZ is a sorcery and cannot be cast in response to an edict effect. However, chord of calling is an instant, and it wasn't uncommon to fetch in response with a fetch land, like misty rainforest, either. Little known little synergy: you can play Dryad Arbor off of an Aether Vial with no counters, at instant speed, as ramp.

That, and the fact that it's a reserved list card, and Legacy/Vintage don't really have as many GP's for it to accumulate points in. It's one of the problems with these lists: reserved list cards that are obviously more powerful than other cards in its category will typically have less points than cards printed for multiple formats that are good enough to see play at top level.

(0:00) I am predicting Treetop Village, Pendelhaven and Gaea's Cradle being really high (as well as the artifact one Tree of Tales, and basically just because it is an artifact, I forgot about that one last time). Although if it counts as a "green land" Wirewood Lodge could be listed as well. [Edit, okay you include it being allowed].
@Mechsrule14 жыл бұрын
Don't forget that dryad arbor is also played by players looking to abuse the fact that one of the printings is difficult to tell from a forest without a close examination, making some players not notice it until its too late.

Castle Gardenbrig would "only" net you one mana right? You tap five lands, and get six mana
@jimharris53204 жыл бұрын
Technically not only 5 lands, they can use mana rocks or dorks too. But the final result is the same, net +1 mana.
@zoobnash25784 жыл бұрын
Two things: 1, Castle Garenbrig inly nets you 1 mana considering you have to forego tapping it for mana to use its ability and 2, Khalnia Garden and similar lands are different from a 0 mana 0/1 that gives you more mana in that they count as your land drop. Great video as always

also important to point out that searching Khalni Garden with Primeval Titan allows it to dodge sacrifice effects (i.e. Lily or Gatekeeper of Malikhir) bc you can just sacrifice the plant, and the Titan will survive to attack the next turn.

You know, green is probably the colour I've played with the least. So I can't think of a very good segue. And it doesn't seem as though many of these have seen play in Vintage, so how about doing "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)" so that I can't stop making these segues.

Same here actually. My first ever MTG product purchase was the Heavy Hitters deck from 8th Edition (at least I think it was 8th Edition) and I just thought that the art for the creatures was simply amazing. Now more than a decade later, Green has been my least favorite color to play since I favor more controlling strategies over creature-based beatdowns.
