At the Visions prerelease, my friend ‘frog hat’ got his Time Walk signed by Richard Garfield. He added a buyback effect long before it existed, if memory serves the card text read “player may pay 11 colorless (circle around 11) to return Time Walk from their Graveyard to their Hand”. And the name was changed to “Infinite Time Walk”. Frog hat sold it I’m certain. That was forever ago.

I like to imagine that, in the early days of magic, Wizards wanted to give all colours the same amount of power but also some differences between them. The problem is that Blue got three of the best effects: extra turns, good draw spells and countermagic

And they often get them a full mana cheaper than other "power" effects in the other colors. Go see what you can do in most colors for the cost of a simple divination, one of the most represented effects in blue, and one that's been power crept in blue so hard that you don't even run it anymore.

I started playing back in Fallen Empire. Back then people constantly screamed that the Designers of the game played Blue exclusivly with 1 guy who must play Mono Red.. (hence why it was also somewhat always OP) and that they hate Black/Green/White color wheels. Thus.. every set.. always seemed to really shine for control. Nothing has really changed.

If only Teeka's Dragon had an ETB effect giving you an extra turn like Emrakul does, we would be talking of an entirely different ranking... then again, it would probably make it so broken that the card could be only played as a single copy in Vintage.

I had a time walk deck back in the old days. I would use Demonic Tutor to look for Ace of Spades, which wasn't in my deck, then Soldevi Digger a Time Walk every turn.

I was surprised during the last list, but forgot to say anything until now.. I'm really surprised Time Spiral doesn't make this list. I know the card hasn't been used that often ever since Tolarian Academy is only legal in Vintage as a 1-of... But still really surprises me.

Since it's unplayable in paper magic it massively limits the number of tournaments it can take part in.

​@@astuteanansi4935it's not a matter of it not being playable in paper, as historic is represented. It's more a matter of their being few sanctioned events before. It has popped up in a few top 10's, but it's a genuinely rare format that few people ever play, and alchemy unique cards being legal in only them aren't helping.

Also, I wonder if it makes sense to give cards a 4x multiplier if they're restricted in a format, because if they weren't they would most likely always be a four-of.

Cards get points as long as they top 8, no matter how many copies are run in the deck so no it doesn't make much sense

Small correction. Miracle states that you can cast it for its miracle cost if its the first card you drew THIS turn. Meaning you can cast it during opponents turns if it was the first card you drew that turn

But its not an instant. It´s a sorcery. As far as I am aware that means you CAN´T cast it on the opponents turn. Edit: Seems like I was wrong.

I like Expropriate paired with Illusion of Choice. You get 4 extra turns. Add in Twincast and you get 8.

My version of Time Walk is to try and make my opponent think that it is my turn after some word play like Daffy Duck talking himself into getting shot by Elmer like in old school cartoons. I don't actually pull it off though.
