@@traycarrot You just described every control deck ever. And if you want to never lose to a person making land drops and playing removal spells, you should want field unbanned, since that card single handedly made any control deck compeltely unplayable.

@@omgopet Hey listen, how can you unban FOD which is giving problems even in a much stronger format like Modern? This is crazy. FOD was the only card that had a match even against fucking Oko. Does it sound healthy to you?

@@andreakevin8685 Fotd was more powerful, but not more problematic. BTE is a card that, if you have 2-3 copies in your opening hand, wns the game on t3 and otherwise does absolutely nothing at any point in the game. It's a card that combos with itself, which is stupid design that just increases variance and the number of non-games for no reason. Fotd decks have about 8-10 otheh cards that find Fotd around t5, so you know exactly what's going to happen and have 4 turns to prepare.

Why was cat banned in standard and not historic, I miss playing cat :(. Surely would be a lot worse without Mayhem devil in rotation too

Historic has more answers and it's faster. In Standard cat would probably win matches by itself. Against aggro you have a free blocker that heals you for 1, against control you have 1 (most of the times more than 1) non counterable damage per turn and against dimir mill youre basically punishing your opponent for solely play that deck (they probably will mill 2 or more cats for you). Not to mention that the mono green aggro decks would turn back into Jund or golgari decks only to include cat. At last, remember that in digital, cat-oven combo takes too much time to do

​@@JDDELAMIGO Often the rogues plan is to pivot and mill out the opponent (particularly in game 2) and I'm not convinced that cat would kill them before this happened, also having one cat or four in the graveyard is often the same, its the number of ovens which matters. Also rogues is considered the best deck by many so is it really punishing them - they are on the best deck. The aggro deck of the format is gruul adventures which is planning to embercleave you which makes the cat a moot point, also brushfire can't be blocked by cat which is a nice bonus. The mono green 'aggro' deck is not really an aggro deck at all, its trying to bury you in card advantage with great henge and troll kings, hell it even has a tendency to deck itself at times so hardly an aggro deck. Cat might make that deck change, but really its just another way to skin a cat. Doom foretold is probably the biggest loser (but lets face it that deck sucks to play against). If you're going to stand by the 'too many clicks' claim then why is it fine in historic? Yasharn (a massive issue for sac decks) is also in Standard.

Hmm, I guess this is not the right site to look at. I mean this is competitive magic, so it isn't their intention to explain to beginners, but rather give an overview of the interaction and the thoughts of the pro players. I have learned it through a friend, and then I started watching youtube videos. There is a series which is called "Game Knights" and the people in the show explained the cards and the interaction pretty good or a least better than this video. But it is a different format which is called commander, and it can be played with multiple players.
