He very clearly means "In hand/on the board at this exact moment". Yes, obviously, being able to change your deck midgame, at will - to suit the hand/board you have - would be amazing, but you cannot do this in black-bordered Magic. So no, changing a whole deck because of one or two feel-bad moments is not the way to evaluate decks.

@@yargotkd He isn't? Look at the sideboard. He said he needed interaction on the stack, so is using counterspells. So the blue mana had to be in the deck somewhere. So since that was ALREADY involved, he likely THEN threw in one of the best Simic cards into the main deck which still helps the general stompy plan. You are looking at it the wrong way around: The blue sources needed to be there whether Krasis was in the main deck or not, to allow sideboarding in stack interaction, so why not throw in one of the best cards in the format when you can play it with the lands you already have for sideboarding reasons?

(Match 4) You needed 2 different pieces for that to be a good hand. You needed both a red land and a mana dork. And you were on the play, so you had one less draw to find them. A mulligan was REALLY needed there. That was one of the good mulligan-decision shorthands that I learned. An opening hand that needs one more piece to be great is keepable. A hand that needs 2 pieces to be great is a mulligan. Aside from that, sweet deck! Love it!

Also I brewed this up in a heavy red gr deck, I feel like you dont want more than like 4 non red lands to play it if also playing once upon a time because you already get enough clunky draws playing a mana curve resembling trons. Drakuseth, karn chandra and sarkhan are enough high end as krasis seems super awkward with iron feet. Since you need 6 mana to even play it. Also domri would be so much better than rhythm, its a rhythm that ramps and color fixes you and fights as well as makes you dorks on board bigger. Everytime I've put rhythm in a brew since war domri 3 ends up replacing it and just being way better. Its close to like rna standard whirler jund almost and that deck ran 0 to 3 lands that didn't make red, depending on how much of the golgari hybrids they ran+trophies, also a ton of blue for a krasis that is very medium until 6 mana and needs 6 mana in play to drop with ironworks, 13 sources from just lands compared to 16 red seems unbalanced 16 considering you need triple red for 8 4 and 5 drops and 12 triple red cards and 4 single blue 6 drops. Sorry to rant that mana base for that splash did not seem thought out, it seemed came up with a cool deck and just put in a generic balanced temur mana base on autopilot. Ugin and sarkhan>>> krasis with iron works, you also have the 7 mana deal 7 to 3 targets if you spend 7 red as well, it deals with oko on curve and the tokens. Your giving up probably 20 percent of the time due to mana on average imo.

God ranked is a grind to rank up with if you checked out of 8 set standard and decayed down to bronze from bottom of mythic during mid WAR. Going 12-0 in bo3s should be more than gold 4 0 pips to plat 4 0 pips. Anyone else feel like the ranked decay is a bit much? For reference skipping one set drops you from mythic to bronze 3 and just to get back to plat winning 80+ percent through gold still takes like 40-45 bo3s since since a season also divided those games I think it would have been maybe 35-38 if it had no season reset. But in no other game have I played do 17-3 and 117-103 get you the same rank up, I can't imagine how long it would take if hit the jank side lf results brewing early on.

Oko does have viable interaction in the form of Planeswalker removal. So long as War of the Spark is standard legal, Planeswalker removal should be in every deck. Green also has a good check in Shifting Ceratops, since Oko can't turn it into an elk or steal it, and a 3/3 can't kill it in combat.

Bad synergy. Fires wants ramp in the form of lands, slower, more consistent, and mana sinks. Irencrag wants creature ramp, to be fast as heck. Fires wants a lot of four five six drops, which aren't great when gotten from irencrag. Furthermore, irencrag necessitates mono red payoffs, which aren't super strong with fires payoffs, which don't want only red mana if they have to be hardcasted.

@@MineRoyale. it depends on what you're after. Casting Ironcrag Feat for free off fires of invention allows for a massive X spell. For example, fires on turn four, turn five you cast ironcrag feat for free and tap your five lands, that's twelve mana on turn 5. So, Krasis X=10, or really any of the finales X=10.
