Why not cast the stern dismissal vs rogues? Even if it isn't necessarily a winning line it at least puts op in an awkward spot and is infinitely better than conceding.

His opponent had all lands tapped, so just dismiss the crab, they can't flash in another creature, and both of Saffronolive's creatures do two damage. Easy win, and kind of can't believe he dismissed Stern Dismissal (pun intended) so readily and didn't even think for a moment

I would not be surprised if this becomes the template for the next starter deck for white-blue. It fits the category of an A+B deck with synergies.

The hilarious thing is that I'm actually stopped up on uncommons after making an Artisan deck for an event, so even budget decks are out of my reach. And Strixhaven only has 2 uncommon slots per pack with no duplicate protection, so kiiinda thinking about quitting when I cant even craft budget decks

I played against a couple of luminancer decks and I feel mono green is the best answer to it. The 3 drops in green are just so good. Love struck beast stops a double pumped luminancer, but old-growth troll/yorvo on turn 3 are also good plays. Throw in toski and blizzard brawls + the ramp from castle garenbrig and you will hang on long enough to start casting vorinclex etc. and winning.

That's a good point, but yes probably budget. I think that the sideboard could be easily changed, essence scatter seems super random. I'd love to run lessons and the mvW learn card that puts a +1/+1 counter instead of defiant strike, to be sure to draw a second spell to cast. Lessons are not super powerful by design, but it does mean an assured extra trigger. I'm curious to see a WB build using Killian, symmetry mage is good but not absolutely necessary imho (lumimancer/leonin are the stars here)

I was working on my own U/W Magecraft deck. Its been a lot of fun trying to figure out which is best between W/R, U/W, G/W, and Monowhite. So far my most successful one has been U/W and G/W

And yeah I've only been playing about 18 months and I won my first and only Friday night tournament before lockdown with a lurrus eidolon enchantment deck. It is oppressive against small creature decks and it folds to control so quickly...

I've been building a Selesnya version of this in historic it's not finalized but it's been phenomenal so far. It can play defensively until it gets the kill. I took out a Soul sisters style deck when they were at 37 life in two turns. I actually think there's a modern version with potential.

Sushi, Sushi, Sushi... you do know that you could have got Magic skins in Minecraft a few years ago, right? Announced back in May of 2017 :D Match 2 vs Rogues, game 3 I think you had a chance - Stern Dismissal on one of your opponent's creatures when they still only had Ruin Crab and Merfolk Windrobber in play. If they didn't have a counter or removal, you won right there, and they only had one Black and one Blue mana open.

im curious if faerie guidemother would be a better option than symmetry sage as it seems OK at best, not sure if guidemother would be THAT much better though tbh. Takedown didnt seem to do much for you either, i'd rather have 3 shelters I think. Running lurrus might also actually be helpful in certain matchups, and you only really need one. Show of confidence though, holy shit.

Deck seems like a fun one, but not very competitive. Most of the wins here came from opponents letting you untap with a couple creatures out when they could have just removed things on their own turn and not died for another 10 turns. Winning also seems very hard on the draw. I'd like to see the black or red versions of this to see if they solve some of the issues with the deck. Blue has decent card draw, but counters seem not great in a list like this. Lurrus would also be worth trying out.

Tried a Boros version of this deck, replacing Of One Minds and Opts with Thrill of Possibilities and Crash Throughs, ran a few Heartfire Immolators and Selfless Saviors to replace the Symmetry Sages. I can say this much: Don't try this deck in the Standard Bo1 queue. When I used this deck, I got paired against nothing but mono removal decks. Think I lost 7 games in a row before I finally gave up and switched decks. Really hate the matchmaking algorithm in Arena.
