That PSA about not scooping too early is really apt. It was funny going from the LGS environment, where it feels like you might as well see the whole thing to the end most of the time to Arena, where blowing up their commander once can sometimes be enough. I can get scooping when my Satoru Umezawa cheats a Jin-Gitaxias into play on turn 3, but there have been times, when I feel like the only thing stopping the opponent from winning was just seeing it through to the end. There have been a hnadful of occasions, where I've seen an opponent just scoop a game I had no chance of beating. Not like in that "Oh, there's no way I can win" way, but rather the "There is literally no out and I am dead next turn." At least it has encouraged me to keep playing even when I know there's nothing I can do to stop the kill on the next turn, because there is a chance that asserting dominance is enough to get them to surrender a won game.

@@goodsamaritan66 It's got a spark of irony because "Saw it coming" is supposedly supposed to be from the perspective of the caster. Implying that the caster is one step ahead of opponent. But in reality, opponent is the one who see's it coming, so they are actually one step ahead of the caster. So while the phrase is technically true, it implies the opposite circumstance. Thus irony.

I've watched MTGGoldfish grow so much over the years. Big cheers to the whole crew for always improving and creating content for everyone. I can't even quantify the amount of free content this channel has provided me over the years. I listen and watch daily. Crim for the Arena series, Seth doing his classic Janky nonsense, Tomer taking on an entire Commander channel, Adriano for the AMAZING thumbnails that often blow me away, and of course Richard keeping the site updated with new features all the time. Now Brewer's Kitchen cooking up some spicy high-quality edits to round out the team further. Much love you all at MTGGoldfish!

I was never really into the idea of Brawl until I started seeing the format’s fans posting sick games like this. I recently started playing Historic Brawl with Marrow-Gnawer and have been having a great time, definitely recommend trying the format out to anyone who likes Commander but has been hesitant to check out Brawl. It can be a big investment given Arena’s terrible economy, but Gnawer lets you get away with a deck halfway made out of Swamps and Rat Colony, so… 👀

I was playing arena as soon as the open beta was out. And even me, despite having LOVED magic for ages, couldnt sit through all the bs, bans, and awfull economy that plagued Arena during eldraine and afterwards.

I made a yorion deck as my first historic 100 card brawl deck, and mine is quite similar. I put deputy of detention in it to help out against any kind of token deck or landfall deck (scute swarm) and so far, it has been a game changer in each deck I use it in. I also put in that new cleric 2 drop from the d&d set that let's you choose from destroying target enchantment, gaining 2 life, or exiling a card from their graveyard, which is just an all around great card to use against graveyard decks, enchantress decks, and even to gain a lil life if I'm low
