Congratulations on the Avacyn and the Sorin. This set has been really strange to open. I bought a box and only managed an Arlinn, an Olivia, and the creepy frog. Then I bought 1o packs and got some bulk rares in the first 8. Pack 9 was an Avacyn. Pack 10 had a Jace in the rare slot then a foil Sorin in the foil slot. The shop owner helped me to a chair before I fainted.

I'm glad that you pulled those mythics. :-) Booster box is a product full of nice pulls. I've found Avacyn already in the 10th booster pack, then Nahiri 2 times (14th and 17th booster) . :-D In the end I found Westvale Abbey with the great art that I really love (33rd booster). I like the sudden appearence of the Demon in front of the cathedral on the "shadow" side.

cool box my booster box was cool too it had a arlinn sorin thing in ice nahiri westvale abby and 4 or 3 duel rare lands and wolfs breach mythic and mindwreck demon even the owner of the card shop was shocked i almost got all the planeswalkers i did get jace emblem but sorry to brag your cool you earned a sub

I am making a black/white STD deck based off Sorin, Grim Nemesis/Avacyn Archangel/Anguished Unmaking. Any suggestions?

+Nathan H It's been over a year since I've played Standard, so I only have little idea of what the metagame looks like nowadays. But I would put in Behind the Scenes, The Indulgent Aristocrat, Pious Evangel/Wayward Disciple, and Odric could be useful. *Maybe* throw in a red source for Olivia's Bloodsworn??? Definitely, find a way to protect your own creatures from Avacyn's flipped out wrath. Yeah, flashing in a second Avacyn to give your board state indestructible would be ideal, but you can't depend on it. I'd throw in Eerie Interlude...And don't forget Triskaidekaphobia, because it'd be funny, and, why not! That said, I love your deck already. I've love to hear how you fill out the rest of the deck. I'm thinking of building something very similar.

ebonydarkfire Thanks! I have been mulling over the idea of doing deck techs, I'm still fairly new at this, so I'm still testing the KZbin ropes. I keep planning on doing one, but then a new hot board game will come out and I want to open that first! lol. I'm so easily distracted by shiny components. I will do some deck techs in the future, I promise! Glad there is a demand for more of that kind of content from my channel, when there are so many other awesome channels out there too :)

Hey i was just thinking. Deckbuilders are 20 dollars for 125 random (ish) cards, 100 lands and 4 booster packs. so technically chouldn't you buy 5 deckbuilders packs, for 100, same price as a booster box, and get 625 random(ish) cards, 500 lands and 20 booster packs?

+Antony Quigley You would spend the same amount of money that way, but in each toolkit there are only 4 random rares from the boosters, the other 5 rares in the box are the same in every toolkit. The random(ish) cards are all common and uncommon and only from a much more limited set of cards. If you want to ensure a playset of all the semi-randomised cards and don't have any basic lands, the 20 boosters could get you pretty far. The Deck Builder's Toolkits are a great way to jumpstart a collection, but I argue it's not the best way to build an existing collection. i think you misunderstood midwrack demon. you only lose life if you don't have delirium, so the 4 cards he mills from your deck enable delirium.

Yes, that is exactly what I used, though they are the prices from release day (the day I opened the box) and the prices were fluctuating a lot and many have changed dramatically in price since then.

Sometimes I would say this: screw Avacyn! Honestly, the Arlinn would have been a good smack down, but Nahiri, the Harbinger would have been even more crazy! For Avacyn, there is one problem: hard to work in an average deck. Yeah, Avacyn is more so just a card to collect for the SOI set, but for play? You might have to go mostly Human and Angel creature deck, and that is a pain in the ass. Avacyn might not go very well if you used Nahiri and Arlinn tag-team deck with Avacyn included. If MTGirl got Nahiri and Arlinn, that is 1 crazy opening. If MTGirl also got a Jace with that Sorin, great for Undead Army deck! But, the point is, Avacyn in SOI is just a collectable, not very good for play. The one from Avacyn Restored, yes that is a good game-play card! But SOI, mainly for collecting...

Now that I think about it, I am glad I do NOT have an Archangel Avacyn in a deck!! That version of Avacyn is collectable and not wisely playable for a reason! You play Archangel Avacyn, good for 1 side, but trash for the other! Who wants to be sledged by the card they played when it flips over and gives them a disadvantage rather than a good chance to win?! So, for Archangel Avacyn, I ask this: Play it to get betrayal, or save it for collecting to remember the Shadows Over Innistrad set?
