Would you mind taking pictures of the Promo Cards? I want to print them so I can play with them but there are no good images online (even on hero realms page the resolution is quite bad). I understand it's a lot to ask since you'd have to snap like 70 shots.

That's a huge box! And there's nothing like having the box still in plastic, turning it around and seeing the overview of the game, the components and the praises that it gets.

I love this game!!!! It did what star realms couldn't do. A decent way to keep track of score. Although I do really love star realms too..

Sorry you only got Bruna, the Fading Light. I am keeping Gisela, the Broken Blade, for that is my first Mythic Rare I have ever opened up! But, I have both Gisela and Bruna, so I am gonna keep that for sure. I also have Nahiri, the Harbinger and Arlinn Kord from SOI, and man are those 2 good for Tag-Team Planeswalker Deck!!

Now that I think about it, I am glad I do NOT have an Archangel Avacyn in a deck!! That version of Avacyn is collectable and not wisely playable for a reason! You play Archangel Avacyn, good for 1 side, but trash for the other! Who wants to be sledged by the card they played when it flips over and gives them a disadvantage rather than a good chance to win?! So, for Archangel Avacyn, I ask this: Play it to get betrayal, or save it for collecting to remember the Shadows Over Innistrad set?

Sometimes I would say this: screw Avacyn! Honestly, the Arlinn would have been a good smack down, but Nahiri, the Harbinger would have been even more crazy! For Avacyn, there is one problem: hard to work in an average deck. Yeah, Avacyn is more so just a card to collect for the SOI set, but for play? You might have to go mostly Human and Angel creature deck, and that is a pain in the ass. Avacyn might not go very well if you used Nahiri and Arlinn tag-team deck with Avacyn included. If MTGirl got Nahiri and Arlinn, that is 1 crazy opening. If MTGirl also got a Jace with that Sorin, great for Undead Army deck! But, the point is, Avacyn in SOI is just a collectable, not very good for play. The one from Avacyn Restored, yes that is a good game-play card! But SOI, mainly for collecting...

I have both halves of Brisela, Voice of Nightmares. Gisela was the first Mythic Rare I have ever opened up, so not trade in. But then I got Bruna, the Fading Light and got both cards for the Meld of a 9/10 Eldrazi Angel!

At 32:34, I don't understand the "Droga, Guild Enforcer" card. The second option says "Stun target champion that's been damaged this turn." But champions are never *partially* damaged (and not completely stunned), are they? For example, if you have a champion with defense 4, you can't apply 3 damage to it. ...Or can you? Is that the point of this card? - If you have some damage, but not enough to stun a champion, then you can use Droga to make up the rest, no matter how much "the rest" is?

The clerics with maces thing goes back to early editions of D&D, in which clerics were prohibited from shedding blood. So to defend themselves, they took up blunt weapons. As anybody with a bit of common sense will tell you, even a hit with a blunt item can break the skin, but they at least adhered to the spirit of their decrees. And with D&D 3rd edition onwards, that's moot anyway. Sacrifice a feat, hooray cleric with greatsword. :)

I like the space theme in Star Realms more but its sad that they didn't add character decks like these on Hero Realms, I might get HR just because of that

my character packs came foiled not shirnk wrapped. I think people who ordered more than one copy go shrink, foil fo those of us who got one copy. maybe not tho! Im hanging out for the campaign stuff.

A nice review! I think one of the only things I disagreed about was the snowballing factor. I think that in Star Realms it's a lot easier to suddenly bump up to huge amounts of damage like 30 per turn. That's mostly because of some sick high-cost cards like Blob World and Fleet HQ :/ I thoroughly enjoy both games but I find that Hero Realms is easily the more entertaining one of the two. The Character Packs seem like worthy purchases as well, but I never really got any of the smaller Star Realms expansions (the booster ones). I only got Colony Wars. I just didn't find the idea of "more randomness" (events) or a few more cards that are similar to the earlier ones (bases & battleships, fleets & fortresses) worth the price. Heroes seemed a little bit tempting and I'm still considering whether or not I should just buy pretty much all of them because the games (both Realms games) feel so great over all :) Epic Card Game wasn't bad either, but I think it seemed pretty unbalanced when it came to "one color vs one color". Green lost each time in each of the matchups we played with friends. No matter who was playing with it... You just didn't have much that you could do against heavy fliers with lots of HP. You only had a few burn spells but that's it...
