Naked Singularity's color identity is five-color, you can't play it in Zur. Martin also missed the cumulative upkeep triggers I don't even know how many times. Cheat count = lots. That Ulamog play to exile the Decree+Solemnity was /tight/ though!

Brudiclad’s trigger is one line of text and the Brudiclad player does not have to announce what they are going to do with their tokens before hand since it doesn’t target. You mention you target the faerie artisan in response to them turning into Faeries, but there isn’t a chance to do that if the trigger is resolving. It could be that you were targeting the artisan when the trigger went on the stack, but it wasn’t worded that way. Also, when you double blocked the Eldrazi with the angel and the wall, your opponent can’t choose not to kill either. Your opponent chooses which order their attacker will deal damage to blockers and the attacking creature can’t deal damage to the second blocker unless the first blocker has been assigned at least lethal damage, so one of them had to take at least 4 of the 5 damage from the conduit. Thanks for the content as always!

Can u tell me how to explain this in a game? The first part I mean. Is really interesting and changes my decade worth of playing. I feel like saying I don’t have to announce something would raise concerns of cheating or something like that.
@danriemer9724
@danriemer9724 4 жыл бұрын
Midd Knight oh sure! So this applies specifically to cards that don’t target, like Council’s Judgement, or something with an etb trigger like Pithing Needle don’t have their choices named until resolution. So if someone casts a council’s judgement, because it doesn’t target, it goes onto the stack without the choice being named. If someone has a fetch land in play and you cast a pithing needle, your opponent should crack the fetchland before needle enters or you can name the land and lock it up. But if they do crack the land, you don’t need to name the card until the needle resolves is the key so if an opponent isn’t paying attention you can get them. You don’t have to give away your intent by naming a target before hand. In this case with Brudiclad, I believe artisan was the only choice so it was obvious to kill it. But if he had an artisan and some other target, once Brudiclad triggers, opponents of Brudiclad need to react at that moment. You can’t blow out the Brudiclad trigger if that makes sense. Killing the target would normally make a trigger fizzle, but because it doesn’t target, the owner of the Brudiclad trigger gets to make the choice during the resolution. That’s more difficult to explain than I thought, but I hope it makes sense.

@@danriemer9724 i got i question he read "Then you may choose a token you control." do you still get the trigger even if the creature die ???
@danriemer9724
@danriemer9724 4 жыл бұрын
44emf yep. The first thing that happens with Brudiclad is you make a token. The next thing is you choose something for your tokens to become a copy of or you leave them as Myrs, and there is no chance to do anything between those two actions happening. So you just have to announce that your trigger is going on the stack. Your opponents need to react now and guess what you may turn your tokens in to if they want to remove something. If they remove one of your token copies, then you can simply choose a different one during the trigger resolution. If they killed your only other token or killed the only thing worth while to turn in to, then you just get to create a 2/1 myr and keep everything else as is.

Typically, you need to play brudiclad AS the finisher. You get a couple thopters, myrs, and treasures putzing around, then it's one good copy-able token and brudi comes out to finish a player or two. It's real hard to keep up the pace after just 1 token wipe.
@danriemer9724
@danriemer9724 4 жыл бұрын
I agree! I had a Brudiclad deck together for a awhile and would never really cast him unless I had some form of protection or a juicy token ready to go. While it’s a ton of fun to swing with 20 Hellriders or Bane of Bala Geds, I found it was too difficult to balance token producers, threats, and copy spells, and took the deck apart. You really need all three in a game to be effective, and if you don’t find one of the three parts the deck feels pretty weak.
@annihilatorg
@annihilatorg 4 жыл бұрын
@@danriemer9724 Exactly. Brudi is my favorite deck. I call it "Fluffy Kitten / Murderbot 5000" because it can produce 60 power on turn 5 or over 50k on turn 10. But otherwise it's a fluffy kitten after a couple board wipes.
