Just as a note, Klothys's trigger was being resolved at the wrong time. It triggers at the beginning of the first main phase, not the beginning of the draw phase.

@@MTGMuddstah as a longtime Klothys player, I’m still surprised that it isn’t at the upkeep. It makes more sense. Valid mistake. So happy to see this deck played (let alone do well) it’s my favorite brew. Can’t wait to see the deck list and compare notes.

Yuriko is feast or famine. Either everyone is dead turn 4 or u can beaten out of the game. Anje is really fun tho I used to have a deck around her

I LOVE Anje. She's my favorite deck I have. Gets shut down hard if you get any table hate and can take a little bit to get going sometimes but when it goes it goes hard.

I'm a little annoyed about Kevin directing the Valakut triggers at the players that are low from Yuriko, when the main threat player is Yuriko. Finishing off people that have barely been able to play is a feel bad. That being said, Kevin was able to turn it into a win and turn off Yuriko being able to atrack into open boards, so it was probably the correct play. Summarized? Yuriko is never fun to see.

First of all, why play with the food and waist everyones time? Second anje is a pretty combo heavy deck (even if you put the combos out that deck explodes) at least that one had to go. I mean i get what your saying but thats not the kind of casual game, i would even dare to say that three of the decks (jodah normally is there too) were at least higher power

I absolutely despise Yuriko as a commander. Makes games so unfun for everyone IMO. And Max didn't even have a fast Yuriko start either. There are many 1 drop creatures which are also Ninjas, which boosts up the damage output even further. Standard Yuriko game: play unblockable / flying creature on 1, ninjutsu on 2 (maybee even play a Ornithopter), get 1-2 triggers every turn and deal around 10dmg everytime. Then get focused out by 3 players and one of them holding back something to finish off the other two with one blow. Yay. And as Yuriko you not only have crazy damage, you also have a insane draw engine from turn 2 on. And your commander can't really be targeted down because you basically have no commander tax and can replay her even in the same attack phase she was destroyed..

Klothys is blind, therefore the best way to ensure she hits her target is to hit everyone at the same time. 😂

Played her a while ago while i was on the brink of tearing her down and use the madness cards for Varina. Glad I didn't go through with tearing it down. It was a plast to play that deck again.

It didn't end up mattering, but when Torbrann and the Eidolon hit the last turn, Maximus would've gotten to decide how the 2 replacement effects affected Torbrann's damage, so they could've doubled then added 2 to only take 10 from combat. They still ended up dead to the Valakut, but it could've mattered otherwise.

It's really, really hard to win if you don't run any counter magic playing Yuriko. It's a must because you're gonna get targeted. You can still be budget and run Arcane Denial, Counterspell, Negate, Delay, Dispel, An Offer You Can't Refuse, Foil, Familiar's Ruse or any of the counter spells that care about your stuff being targeted.

You can still be budget and play a full cEDH Yuriko Farm deck. Legit a 100-150 gets you a Yuriko deck with everything you need to crush a casual table into the ground with ad naus/ consul/thoracle combos.

Regarding Yuriko, if she shows up, just bring out Light-Paws. lol. My buddy's 800+ dollar Cedh Yuriko deck has not beat my budget 140 ish dollar Light-Paws deck even once yet. ;-) If they wanna be nasty, just be nasty back. Ha ha! There's always a solution.

This inter action is really funny for damage Ok so i run a unique kenrith deck my main set up is Vorenclex monstous raider, sparkdoubler" targeting vorenclex", elish norn mother of machines, doubling season, panharmonicon and the enchantment "all will be one" then ugin spirit dragon or nicol bolas. So it triggers like this I play ugin with 7 loyalty vorenclex trigger elishnorn sees it the panharmonicon sees it =56loyalry the spark double copy of vorenclecks trigger mom and pan both see it = 448 loyalty the doublingseason triggers mom and pan see it 3,584 loyalty thats how you get triggers fron pan and elish norn with planeswalkers

Scapeshift is a thing with Valakut. Since all the lands entered at the same time they all saw that there were at least 5 others so they all triggered Valakut.

Commander Tax cares about the number of times the commander has been *cast* from the command zone not the number of times it's left the CZ. Activating Ninjutsu isn't casting it.

Man, as a anje player myself her playstyle is so weird to build and find the right table/power level. If you go discard focused (not only self discard), apart from the fact that there are others more aligned commanders for that tactic, you have to give up on some madness cards to slot discard spells, hence loosing big draw turns with her ability. If you go full on her draw capability, WGD combo is the way, pack you deck with all madness cards and the combo pieces and hope the glass cannon works. Non combo madness focus feels clunky cause either going spells or vampire tribal (with falkenrath gorger), cause again, you add vampires and remove madness cards. Combo is op for casual tables (and not that strong vs CEDH/powerfull decks), non combo builds just feel suuuper slow and non synergistic at times. Am I crazy or just a shitty deck builder?

I'm no pro, but I run Anje as my primary deck, and I think you hit the nail on the head. Having WGD feels way too OP for casual plays with friends who don't have similar win conditions/power levels but feels very underpowered if you aren't comboing hard. You can get a lot of draw power, but I'm not a good enough player to really capitalize on that myself. Still really fun to play as Madness is my favorite mechanic.
