It's amazing the difference between hacky digital art and artwork actually created with talent by hand. Nowadays you have Mtg artists blatantly copy/pasting others work, trying to get ahead of AI I guess? Lol

This is my favorite set if all time. This came out right when i statted playing seriously. Back when there wasnt standard or modern, legacy or pioneer. It was just type 1 tyoe 1.5 and type 2. Then came extended. Lol does anyone remember that? Haha. I remeber mybfavorite card of the set was cursed scroll because i played suicide black. I had a binder with 6 full pages of cursed scrolls but sold them when they hit 30 a pop. Then they got alk the way uo to 120$ now theyre way down again. But my biggest regret was orobably selling 87 lotus petals when they hit 2 dollars each lol. Anyway awesone video. Just great menories

@@darken8649 I remember buying a pack of Tempest from a Walden Books at the mall when I was 12 years old. Pulled a Lobotomy and was convinced it had to be the rare since it seemed like the best card in the pack. Actual rare was Oracle en-vec 😂

Man I remember pulling a Rathi Dragon back in 1997 and mine having a green dot on its left nostril. It was some wired miss print, I should have kept it. Back then it was one of the chase pulls. Crazy how times have changed the power level of magic.

for years would play chaos drafts/sealed Friday night, although we rarely used rath block once it was no longer in standard since buyback was so overpowered in limited at the time. So I've opened a lot of it, but bought a lot more urza's and invasion block boxes at the time. (in moderation given I was a poor college student / temp worker).

There's a reason I don't consider myself a 'good' player anymore. give me a pile of crap and I'll get it rolling, but give me a finely tuned speedster and I'll get distracted by all the shiny lights and pretty buttons

Ive only been playing magic around 1 year and the old art on some cards is pretty cool but new art is really nice too. My biggest gripe with the older arts being that they just stick out so much among new arts and the newer cards are obviously stronger due to power creep (in general, of course theres some insanely powerful old cards)

I've only been playing magic for little less than 2 years. Imo the art has gotten insane, but I do miss some "spark" like most of the older magic cards have. I'm a sucker for full art land prints like the lost caverns of ixalan ones and also love the duskmourn fullart. I'll always buy the older looking prints if I had the option. But when it comes to lands, I love full/extended art!

Legit point, but we do get a little excited and just straight up forget. More organic I suppose. I think what threw us off the most in this box was the rares being at the back, most (I think all) of the previous vintage we've cracked in the past couple years had the rares at the front.
