Eivor is interesting because the equipment doesn't need to be equipped. Makes alot of cheap cost draft chaff look more appealing for a budget deck.... Bonesaw is ready!!!

Ezio is basically a slightly worse Ohran Frostfang or Toski Bearer of Secrets. Except this ability is more often on green than dmir. I think the card would be significantly better if it got ninjutsu or a lower casting cost, or haste

i don’t think anyone expected/wanted these starter kit exclusive legendary creatures to be too good. also i think the lack of words is very nice for new players, especially with playable commanders (which is what hasbro would want them to start). I just wish it wasn’t boros equipment….

No bro it’s way better than those tf? lol. It can draw you way more then just one card per turn. Those other cards only give you 1 a turn. He’s also a 5/5 with deathtouch.

Blue has had this effect since Mercadian Masques, with Coastal Piracy. More recently, Bident of Thassa, Kindred Discovery, and Reconnaissnce Mission.

I kinda want Ezio in the 99 so I can add green to the deck’s color identity. That lets me combine it with the assassin spawning Vraska and the new green assassin that relies on deathtouch.

I like eivor because you don't have to suit up any creatures. Simply having equipment will deal the damage, which means this is a perfect deck to slot in all of those living weapon and for mirrodin cards. It encourages a more flexible strategy than just going straight voltron, which is nice to see.

How does Ezio draw you multiple cards? Don’t creatures deal combat damage at the same time? So wouldn’t that mean only 1 card every combat unless one of your creatures had double or first strike?

Usually universes beyond commander design is some of the best but these two are so uninteresting, I'm really surprised. Blue black assassins is far from new, let alone another commander that's "do the thing, draw a card". Boros equip is done to death as well. Really dissapointed but at least i don't have to worry about grabbing this.

Well these are STARTER decks so it's ok if they're simple/underwhelming. They're designed for non-magic players to get in on the fun. The biggest giveaway should be the explanation of simple keyword abilities like vigilance and haste.

Wait a minute.... A COMBAT damage trigger for ASSASSINS? When 80% of all assassins are ACTIVATED/TRIGGERED abilities that don't even do DAMAGE? The only ones I can find that actually want to be getting in for damage are... Virtus, Mari, Ramses Assassin Overlord, both Etratas, and Darkblade Agent.

Honestly, I don't feel that Blue-Black really represents Ezio. He needs that Red in there as a passionate young man seeking vengeance against those who murdered his father and brothers. In one of his first assassinations, he repeatedly stabbed the corpse until he was stopped by his uncle.

nothing is wrong with crossovers, there have been plenty and will continue to be plenty of original content with magic. if it continues to grow the community as a whole, that isn't a bad thing. nobody is forcing you to buy the product

@zanderflynn4402 My problem with it is that they're getting hard to keep track of. I'm tired of new sets coming out every month and a half because I don't have time to enjoy the prior one. It seems like that's the same way the designers at Magic are feeling, too, with placeholders still being art, unbalanced messes of cards, and their own grievances with the cash-grabbing puppeteers at Hasbro. I've played Magic with my father since I was 8. I don't want to let go of something so emotionally attached

So Ezio Blade of Vengeance is just a nerfed Yuriko the tigers shadow. Eivor Battle ready is SUPER PUSHED. Attack trigger, and it cares about how many equipment you have without caring if their equipped. Players are going to run more artifact hate, Eivor did not need haste, and did not need to be a 5/5.
