The thumbnail for the video alone is incredible! 👍

Thanks Frank! I didn’t want to entirely give it away, otherwise I would tried to get both of them in the thumbnail…although that would be difficult! 😂

Amazing video, terrific camera angles and super nice locomotives. Just not enough adjectives to describe how nice this is Brian! 😊

Thank you John! You are way too kind!! These Verandas must have been something when they were riding the rails!

I loved this video Brian, the turbine engine veranda locomotives are beautiful and sound fantastic. I was really impressed to see the loco's running in tandem it was so cool. Looks like you and I have the same vintage UP passenger cars but I don't have the vista dome on the observation cars which looks really nice on your trains. Thanks for another great running session.

Awesome Roger! Yep, it’s a decent passenger set. I’d like to get a set of the newer ones with the actual interiors, but as we know they are not cheap! I could get another diesel loco for that price! Thanks again for the kind words!! 😎

My feelings exactly Brian, I have looked at the newer sets but the prices are restrictive and I am happy with these at this point. Thanks for your reply.

I wish I could go back in time and hear one of these scream by! Super cool engine.

For sure!! To see one of these on the rails back then, must’ve been so cool!

Thank you so much for making this video for me Brian. The shots and views are amazing! This was incredible to watch double headed Verandas! Outstanding!! 💯❤️😊

Awesome Frank! Glad you liked it! Sorry it took so long! 😉 …hmmm, should I try for triple header Veranda MU?! 🤣 I really taxed my feeder to the track. I need to add at least one more, to run anything more than what was ran in this vid. I kept getting a “Check Track” message on the DCS handheld! 🤣😂😅
@TwistedMacGyversTrains6 ай бұрын
I would recommend feeders at every 8 feet at least. You could melt something without the proper feeders. Be careful please!

Oh man, you’re too kind Joey!! I guess I need to get that third Veranda upgraded and add it to the consist! I might need to add a new sub-panel to the house in order to power it all! Hah! 🤣😂😅

I like the scene where it hooks up to the passenger cars, the crossing is also a popular place for me.
@naxshack6 ай бұрын
Thank you Kevin! Yep, those rail fans like that crossing too! Not sure how people drive in and out of the station with them camped out there all the time! 😅😎

Thank you Mark!! For sure, not too many! I do have a third Veranda which is still PS1. I’m going back and forth on whether or not to upgrade it. It would be interesting to lash-up three of them though! 😎

That's awesome! I gotta ask, what's the amp draw on 8 motors, 4 smoke units and a bunch of incandescent light bulbs?😂
@naxshack6 ай бұрын
Thank you Uncle Salty!! I am really curious myself! I don’t have a meter hooked up, but I need to get one and try it again! The current draw has to be crazy. I looked at my notes from the upgrade and the rough estimate for 4 motors and 2 smoke units was upward of 2A. So the two Verandas and incandescent passenger cars, may very well be close to 4 to 5 amps! 😮
@UncleSalty-nz5uk6 ай бұрын
@naxshack Well, I can tell you that I have an ABA set of proto1 E8s and 4 motors, 2 smoke units and 8 older scale passenger cars is about 7 amps. I'm sure the newer stuff is much more efficient
@naxshack6 ай бұрын
Wow! That’s awesome!! It might be closer to the 7amps, then!! I’m running 4 Lionel 180w powerhouse transformers and about 14AWG feeders. I think I have a clip on ammeter, that I can try. I’m very interested to see! I have a third Veranda that will prob get an upgrade in the near future. It’ll be interesting to lash up three of them and see what the current draw is! 😎

@naxshack I run a Z-400 and a postwar ZW with inline fuses. Feeders about every 6 feet, but I'm conventional. I've used this set up for years.
