MTH Western Maryland Coal Hopper 6 car set review and run

Thanks to my 700 subscribers! Check out what I got during York week. Brand new MTH Western Maryland 4 bay coal hopper 6 car set. These will be perfect behind my MTH Western Maryland M2 Challenger steam locomotive. I'll review and compare this 2019 model to an older 2000 coal hopper. Stay tuned to the end to see them run around the layout.

Great to hear from another WM fan. I've been one since riding behind the 734 on the Pumpkin Train years ago. Hoping to get a 1309 ride and Lionel model next year. Planning a WM extension featuring the Cumberland station. Stay tuned....

JD, thanks. My scenery challenge is that I have several prototypical locations I'm trying to model. I think I'll start with the rivers since water is water and that will bring the bridge scenes to life. Your mountain looks good, will probably use the same method for mine. Sorry I missed you guys at York.

Ryan, I'd been looking for the WM M2 Challenger for years. It's exceeded my expectations. Will be sure to point out differences between it and the UP version. I'm happy with the WM hoppers. Perhaps I'll make a train with all my coal.

Thanks for the comment 5318. I've been collecting scale coal hoppers since I had a O42 curve layout. They snake around tighter curves than longer scale freight. They'll look even better after I put some real coal on top.
