MTM MAKEOVER - Renovating the UGLIEST Bathroom (Part 1) - Meet The Mitchells

This is our first ever episode of MTM Makeover! We had this idea last year to take you on the journey of renovating our home bit by bit. We have always wanted to renovate our space but it was never the right time, we had different priorities or finding the right people to work with became real obstacles in our path.
Recently, we had a BUSTED pipe that we located in the boy's bathroom (which was basically out of commission) so, we decided to start there. It's a blue, retro bathroom which is in desperate need of face lift and we are in the process of doing just that.
This series is intended to show you all the ins and outs and ups and downs of construction and remodelling a space but it is also intended to show you what is available to us right here in Jamaica. Everything from local manufacturers to local retailers who make our lives so easy.
So, we hope you enjoy this episode and we hope it is informative and fun!!! Come along with us as we renovate the boy's bathroom.

I did my kitchen and bathrooms at the same time! Not recommend! I think you did a great job with your choices! My bathroom is very similar, just be mindful that with the black faucets you’ll have to wipe them down after each use to avoid water stains also I would choose a even lighter grey paint to make the space feel bigger if the walls are darker it will make you feel closed in. Everything looks great I can’t wait to see your other Reno’s!

I like option 1 for the paint. The room is small and a darker grey will make it feel smaller. The light grey gives it enough contrast from the white but still keeps it bright and airy.

I love the selections. I think it would be nice to paint the wall that you aren’t tiling sea green or a grey blue (pale). This will give the room some pop of color without being too overwhelming. Colors that are pale won’t become too dated and you won’t get bored of it too quickly. You can also add accessories that have colors towels, painting etc to add color. You also don’t want to go too dark on the walls because the floor is a medium grey and you will also have black fixtures which stands out on their own. The idea is to also add a balance which applies to any space in general.

I love the mood board! It’s coming together nicely I think you guys should stick with the Grey Paint. It would give you the opportunity to open up the room to endless color ways with how it will pop the whites & blacks in the bathroom. An excellent shade is “Scared Spring “. I’m soo excited to see the finished bathroom. Love how Tami and Wayne both take on different roles and master them.
