Motion v4.3.3 - update overview (M⁴) - Stagger & more!

Love the deep dive on individual tools in Motion. I really wish they all had one like this, there's a lot I don't use just because I'm not really sure how they work.

This is so cool, just when I think you can't surprise me anymore, you go out there and do it! Too good!! If I may suggest an improvement, it would be useful if we could filter these changes by the colors of the labels or keyframes! I imagine that having small squares just below the "auto" button with the colors, and when selecting the color Red for example, would make the changes only affect the red layers or keyframes!

I'm going through a "sequencing" phase, and it was getting frustrating making changes by hand constantly.....this looks AMAZING 😎 EDIT: Using the stagger tool and the anchor point tool I have made about 14 unique sequences from the one "base" that I set up - in record time!!

Please add a “Selection order” direction type. With that you can select layers on screen in any order you want and stagger based on it. I use it all the time with the almighty Rift script. Useful for offsetting shapes in any possible direction, even in zig zags.

Sadly, will be looking into your competition like Flow or Real Ease or Easify 2 Pro because of your new subscription model. The price point for what you get does not add up for me esp with Adobe raising their price as well. Feels like a slap in the face.

If you already owned a Lifetime License, nothing changes. Your tools still work and will get updates like normal. So, I hope that makes things a little better ✌️ The pricing shift to subscriptions is only for new users, but please let me explain. --- I understand your unhappiness to hear about subscriptions ... it was a hard decision to make... And, something I tried to stay away from since Mt. Mograph started back in 2013. I've been making and supporting these tools for 11+ years with endless updates. We never sold paid-updates, or version updates, and we shipped 100s of free updates over a decade. Under pretty tight development restrictions. --- On the other end of selling Lifetime Licenses, that meant no recurring new revenue as a company. Or, sometimes no income at all, unless new users check out our tools every day. With inconsistent income, it made it hard to operate like a real business or juggle expenses. Especially with all the rapid price changes we're all experiencing everywhere. Like you're experiencing with Adobe, all our service costs have x5+, too. Without changing to Subscriptions we can't keep updates going, or continue to exist. --- I tried my best to price this as fair as possible, and that still is not fun to say. So, I'm kind of there with you my friend! After working on these tools for years, I hope the value is there. My core value is to make accessible software at a reasonable cost. I want to keep building new, supercharged software and tools. After ten years of making plugins, it felt like the right time to leap into making larger software, and build new tools ... which unfortunately also costs more to produce, and consistent income to afford. --- If you compare the Ease screen to other tools for easing it may not have every feature? But, out of interest, what other features would you want in Motion-4 and Ease? We built some pretty sweet/unique things into our Ease screen compared to other tools (and more on the way!) Also, Motion has an expansive amount of other screen and tools in it; that I hope are helpful. But, like you said, there are also lots of fantastic alternatives to use! We're going to launch some sweet new kinds of software in 2025! It would be sweet if you would check out the tools!

Just bought motion v4. There are no keyboard shortcuts?????!!!! It baffles me that you made this insanely engineered tool and didn't add keyboard shortcuts?

Apologies! Wish we did have keyboard shortcuts, M⁴ used to - but, the old shortcuts would inter too much with After Effects native keyboard shortcuts. AE preferences override Extensions, so we are kind of stuck rn. I'll investigate though 🙏
