MTN Turbonet Speed Test + Switching to MTN

MTN turbonet employs a technology called carrier aggregation where a router is able to receive data simultaneously from two network bands. MTN is currently running 2600mhz band in addition to the 800mhz secured from national communication authority. This technology has migrated MTN from 4G to 4G+, hence the speed.

150 mpbs isn't fiber speeds, but it beats most of America. If I can get better than 25 consistently for the whole day, then speed won't be a problem for me. My wife on the other hand, it's going to complain about anything under 100. Hopefully we find something there to keep her off Netflix all day.

Yeah, the speeds we get with the Turbonet is manageable. For 95% of the time, I'm able to stream videos without buffering. I'll take Fibre any day because of speed, but can't carry it around. With the Turbonet, definitely can move it from place to place.

My turbo net used to be fast but all of a sudden it’s slow. When I do the speed test it is 360kbps. I called mtn several times to sort it out. I’m in East legon. Any recommendations on how to resolve this?

Now I have bought turbonet router. I want to know if I can buy normal bundle like the midnight bundle on it. I have paired my phone number with the router but I can't see the option for the mtn normal data bundles. If it is possible, can you show me?

Not that I know of. So the bundles available are the fibre bundles. I haven't tried bundling using any other. If you've tried and didn't work, then there you go.

If vodafone will give you fibre, go for vodafone. Trust me, my internet speed is 380+MBps download speed and almost 600Mbps upload... No jokes!

But why guys mistake mbps to MB/s?? if you're getting 10mbps from turbonet, it's actually 1.25 MB/s if you're downloading.... which means if you downloading like a 10GB file .... imagine the stress.

It's easy to get 100mbps (about 12MBs) on the Turbonet at non peak times. I've had 10MBs before, so it's not that bad.

@@KhoPhi I use AirtelTigo alongside MTN as ISPs and its speed is pretty much on par with MTN's 3G so calling it useless seems a bit much to me. Sure MTN edges out in with regards to coverage but in areas where AirtelTigo works, it works quite well. Vodafone on the other hand...

Man, the internet speeds in my area is gone bad. It appears they are giving some areas bigger bandwidth than others. with a full 4G signal strength, I am getting 93Kbps and this is kindna slow...

i know right!! threw our office one away and went with vodafone broadband... not a single regret since... the airtel tigo that he is thrashing is faster than MTN in tamale town despite being 3g... MTN internet service geberally sucks
