i'm often surprised when i go into dungeons at just how insane the DPS is. i'm usually super worried after watching these old guides, only to be relieved when the fight is a breeze. That doesn't always happen but boy howdy is it swell when it does haha. These guides are invaluable though. I'm glad I found your channel even if I'm years late to the game

Had a similarly bit of anxiety going into Garuda Hard for the first time recently. I was panicking a bit as off tank looking out for certain things, sometimes ruining my rotation because of that, but I did the mechanics right at least. Got to the two tethered spawns and just as I was grabbing Suparna away from Chirada DPS rinsed the boss before the third phase really started. I guess the changes to DPS over the patches have made these older fights easier and to a newbie I just don't have that context obviously (thus the overthinking it). I should do Titan Hard well so long as I have some modicum of respect for where the boss should be and were it's safe to stand.

Ah yes, Titan Hard. Did this once with all DPS Landslided off the platform by the end of the Titan's Heart phase. MT'd through the final phase with a Dark Knight and 2 healers. Fun times

About to do this now so I can continue the main storyline and I'm NOT looking forward to it. I'm not that good at Primals and I don't want to be that one guy that wipes and potentially fucks everything up for the whole God damn Party. I died once fighting Garuda but overall that wasn't too bad. I hate Titan the most out of all Primals. Edit: just finished it now. Not an experience I want to remember, I got fucking knocked off the platform due to a lapse in concentration and all I could do was watch. The rest of the Party were getting wrecked but the Tank did a great job staying alive by himself.

I got put into a rock, and the 1 melee guy attacking it was targeted with landslide. Rock was destroyed right as landslide cast hit, I get punted off before I could move. 10/10 design such mechanic much engaging.

Just finished this fight half an hour ago and holy crap it was hard. I main SCH and spent half the fight popping succor and sacred soil when I could and the other half dodging and raising half the party. The WHM went down after trying to res a DPS due to an AOE so that was stressful for 8 seconds till mine could pop and raise them. I ended up with 4 commendations though so that was nice.

Oh I was scared to do ifrit hard mode but you mostly will get into great groups I'm usually always the off tank (which is perfectly fine with me :) ) just rely on you're party and you should get through those tough boss fights! :)

It's not impossible - it just requires a different playstyle. First tip I would give is going into it with the best gear you can get - the more HP you have the easier this will be. You need to know in advance what CDs to use for each Mountain Buster and you need to communicate with your healers well. Playing a WAR is all about knowing what to expect (as opposed to just taking it to the face like a PLD) so that you can quickly react to the incoming damage and counter it with your toolset.

I don't know why but every time I do Titan, I shake. Even on Normal I shake every time I accidentally get put in by duty leveling roulette. Planning to do Ifrit Hard Mode tomorrow for the first time because I am new. I am nervous but I'm even more nervous for this.

Hey MTQ, "gaol" is pronounced "jail" and has the same meaning. It's how it's spelt in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Old timey speak. ;)

Unless I'm spamming Overpower or Tomahawk (which isn't ever needed MTing a boss :P) I don't generally have TP problems. At low levels you can grab Flash (GLD 8) to give you that extra edge over AOE packs if Overpower is draining your TP too fast. Let me know if you still have this issue at 50!

MTQ what world are you in? Im a healer and cant seem to kill titan with any randoms when i que, im also on the relic quest. IM aware your a tank but wonder if you have any tips you could give me. job SCH

When I did it as SCH i found that having a WHM buddy complemented the healing requirements really well. I would mainly focus on the tank while the WHM handled most of the group healing. Throw out Sacred Soil for each Geocrush/group up and having succor shields on the group before each AOE tumult seems to help manage the damage. Post-heart: Physick spam, make sure the tank is as close to full health before each Mountain Buster (especially for undergeared tanks); if you're comfortable with the timing/mana management, keep adloquium up on the tank for each MB. As for queuing with randoms....you might have an easier time joining a /shout group instead of DFing it. I've found that most groups will fail because people get hit by the easily avoidable things - not because it's a challenging fight. Also, I'm on Behemoth, if you ever need an extra body for it :)
