@@ErrorGameManiac I know this comment is a month old but I need to point out that this is only true to high level raids. If you have a couple of first encouter players, it's almost impossible to clear it. At that point you're wasting about an hours or and a half of your time. Also, if you make a group in PF asking for help, people willing be more willing to do so. They just don't want to slog through that much time for no benefit.

Then again, it's a known flaw to MMO devs, hence the mechanisms, at least in FFXIV, to make veterans engage with newcomers on duties by roulette, the "extra rewards since a player is doing this for the first time, etc". IMHO, while the mechanisms help, they certainly don't solve the problem. The problem being that, when people generally game with randoms, they just have zero empathy towards them. If a random dude stops to read flavor text, because, you know, it's an RPG, he'll get condemned ... if he doesn't know the basics of said duty, also gets condemned... It's one of the reasons why MMO evolved a lot to single-player focus or doing all multiplayer aspects of the game with close friends or guildmates.

did it today with a random party. its really not that hard if ur party isnt the worst. u simply have to watch out for the following: 1. one tank pulls the king and ruffletuft, the other pulls whiskerwall 2. now dd all mini moogle to about 5-10% health. as soon as one dies, the king will heal all of them to full health so its important that every single mini moogle is at 5-10% (the king uses his own health to heal the mini moogles, so the more dmg alle the mini googles have taken before one dies, the more health the king has to use to heal the moogles). as soon as u've got that, kill the mini moogles. its not important that every single one dies. 3. repeat that until the meteor hits (probably have to do it 2 times) 4. now its the final phase: just repeat the same thing. its really really important that not a single moogle dies. cause as soon as one dies, the king will start casting a full party wipe. so get all of the moogles to 5-10% percent again, then burn all of them. now nuke the boss before he casts the wipe (use dps limit break if possible). 5. done

This is the first extreme I unlocked and I'm now really thankful I decided to look up what it's like compared to the Hard version I did right before (which was a piece of cake). I'm a healer and have only completed this twice, I actually had to take long breaks inbetween memento moogle wipes because even with the challenge healers can get running moggle (I haven't had to time my leeches in such a small window of opportunity before) its just disheartening to see you have to do it all other again because a moogle died before everyone was ready to take down all the others and the king. But yeah I want that Ribbon so I am willing to go through moogle torture until I bash my face against the keyboard.

Kalutikat To be honest, the first chance I got to do this fight. We one shot it =P. It is not a hard fight to heal what so ever, just gotta pay attention for when Whisker taunts people for the dispell and stay out of crap. Depending on how the group coordinates for the first two moogle kill set, you can adjust your strategy to deal optimal damage to King Mog with the final set. If the first two sets were not satisfactory, then it would be wise to get all moogles as low as possible in the third set and down them without LB3 so that a melee can make up the damage on king mog with LB3. However if the first two sets meet expectation, then the final set has the option of either using LB3 on a group of moogles to allow for quicker dps on King Mog or again cause previous sets did well to just down them one by one and use melee LB3 on King Mog.

juvygenius I agree that after you know what to do and get the timing right it becomes really easy to heal for since I have gotten used to the idea of being able to plan the leeches (I have even almost got the timing down for using leeches on myself) problem is I pug often so often enough I am solo dispelling and that causes me to panic because of the short window of time since I stumble a lot, nevertheless I have wiped due to memento moogle more often than any other reason. Then it becomes an issue of hoping the dps knows what they are doing and can hopefully pull out enough damage at the end, and that is always fun, oh and the tanks know to watch the bard during switches since mog rain tends to always hit me just before thrown through the loop which means if the bard has enough stacks I just plain ol' die. I have really got to get into a static but due to my nervousness of being caught out really badly and failing in front of people I know I tend to hide among the pugs

Kalutikat Fear of looking bad is a pointless notion. You just have to focus on what you need to do to your best ability. Mistakes will be made no matter what any person does, all that matters in the end is learning from them. Even the best raiding guilds/free companies make plenty of mistakes, the difference for them though is they usually do it in open beta testing so that when it is officially out. They will have made those mistakes and clear content quickly.

Yeah, that makes it very different. The downside is that there's not really a lot of learning to be had. It's just chaos that you heal through (I'm a healer). I find the fight more annoying than well-designed, as there is too much going on to study or improve.

You were correct the first time. It is the king that does the mp drain. The pld and mrd do a cone debuff, which is why you cant tank both of them with 1 tank. The debuff buffs the dmg of the other tank moogle. I think they are light and dark. Also the dmg up ability on the tank moogles is the hate reset. King moogles hate is a lot like the plume you need tank swap in Garuda ex. So you just need to provoke him and he will stay on you the whole time. You don't need to combo on him and etc.

I could not be more confused, does one tank take BOTH the moogle tanks while the other tank takes the king and then switch? Or does each tank take ONE moogle tank and take turns also tanking the king?

I just did this event last night. Blind. As a tank. Needless to say we wiped about 6 times. Thank God the other tank was kind enough to explain what I needed to be doing and we managed to win just as Memento was 95% charged. 10/10 never doing again. XD

Great video guide, but on the real, this trial sucks so bad. It sits, still unbeaten, in my quest list and leers at me like a taunting jester. I've sat through a good 13 hours collectively in que for this abomination of a boss battle, only to have VOTE ABANDON pop on my screen after two or three failed attempts. Or the lovely, 'Fuck this', 'You all suck', or 'Good luck with that', before a rage quit and eventual party collapse. I've never had as much difficulty with a Primal, Raid, or Dungeon (including Bahamut) as I have had with the Good King Moggle Mog. The fight itself is easy enough when broken down, and mapped out like this guide shows, but it's a lot different when you're in the middle of a swirling sea of colors, sounds, moggles, and other players running around either not knowing what to do, or knowing exactly what to do and making it very well know in the chat box about how ashamed the rest of us should be of ourselves. Damn you, Good King, and damn me for being such a completionist that I will continue to wait, and wait, and WAIT in que only to end up back where I started.

@@chrislake6001 haha, @lvl60 during HW, there was a funny and dirt fast method to farm him. get in with a 8 whm premade party and holy spam on pull. Could get the job done in less than 30 sec. Today, a single whm could do the trick.

Also incase people dont know when the pld does his charm ability, if your a healer and you get charmed with good timing you can esuna/leech yourself free. Its what i do in that fight now to make sure that at least one person(myself) doesnt take any damage from poison, i also inform the other healer to make sure to not worry about me so hopefully he can esuna/leech someone before they touch the poison.

It doesn't look like an extremely hard fight if people know what they're doing and you don't hear a new player saying I didn't watch the video. It takes my DRG only two hits on the BLM and WHM to stop them from casting Flare and Cure. I just more notice that tanks aren't often watching those stacks however and the healers tend not to understand the buff and debuff patterns.

What's worse, IMO, is that you need to form a party before you can even try Ramuh Extreme, and and there are very few people who have unlocked that trial and those that do won't help people on Ramuh Extreme if they don't know the fight on that trial.

Can someone explain why it's necessary to lower all moogles to 10% before killing them? Does the king take more damage that way than he would if you just killed a moogle seven times?

+Odiekun He uses his own health to heal all of the Moogle Guard. The less health all of them have when one dies, the more damage you do to the King. And you can only kill 3 moogles before he casts Moogle Momento which is an auto wipe if you don't kill the King before it finishes.

I tried this with a full FC group last night, and we were having major problems getting through it (we'd gone in fairly cold, mind you). We ultimately did not clear it, although I did notice a stealth mechanic while tanking: the two tank moogles have insane damage when near each other (no visible buffs or indicators except the massive damage I started taking). Initially we tried it with me tanking the two tank moogles, and our other tank on the king. I was getting effectively 1-shotted by the two tanks, within seconds of picking them up and pulling them away from the rest. Even when both healers were trying to heal through their output, it wasn't enough. FYI, I tank as a pld, currently with ilvl 95 gear and about 6.6k hp. Shield Oath was on, I received every possible dmg mitigation ability from our healers (whm/sch combo), and I was still dying in seconds.

7yo guide and still usefull for 6.0 xD. I started FFXIV 150h ago and this was the first fight I saw real salt. Toxic players blaming everyone, healer anxiety because people were scared of getting close to Eos for some reason and co healer decided to DC. We wasted the 45 minutes 😂

To be honest, I do not think this fight will be that difficult. It does require a good amount of attention, but all and all. The fight is stay out of stuff, don't let certain moogles get buffed, coordinate dps, and know the phases. The hardest part quite honestly will be controlling the buffs unless you have dps that are silly enough to kill a moogle too soon.

I used to main tank during Wrath of the Lich King on WoW. It's considered one of the hardest current content fights of WoW. The Lich King fight looks like child's play compared to this horrible...horrible mess.
