Hi Folks, just installed it yesterday. We need more tutorials, specially with one like the alley with floating photos (where the camera makes a curve) - we need camera movements that point to a different angle from the initial scene. Think about a shot of a car in front of me, and I turn my camera to the opposite side (180o / my back), and there is a 3d model there. Thanks a lot.

Been fun playing with mTracker 3D today! I’ve realized my workflow makes it hard to blend the composited elements because I shoot in LOG and can’t simply apply the same grade to the composited footage, so now I’m trying to find the best method-flattening the composited footage first so I can grade everything together or correcting at the end. I’d love to see a tip video about this!

We do discuss that in many of the tutorials by doing everything then creating a compound clip and grading everything together.

You’ll have to rotoscope (keyframe a mask) so they appear in front of the elements.

My first attempt worked well! Thank you. Now, I'm struggling with a low-light scene. I enhance the contrast first. Motorcycle rider point-of-view. The camera on the helmet is looking left and right with the move of the riders head. I mask the windscreen but the track keeps following the windscreen. Is there a stacking order that needs to be followed? Mask then mTracker3D, or mTracker3D and then mask?

Basically, you have to make a normal track, after that place your model in the tracked space and animate it. Then mask it to look like it's behind something.

It’s more about masking and rotoscoping than anything else. Just animate as normal with the track, then mask the things that go behind in z space.

Is there a tutorial on how to use 3d tracker with texture blending? Basically, I'm trying to show someone's face burning but need it tracked to their movements. I tried using a dropzone to blend it as a mesh on the face but can't seem to get this to work well. I feel like snapchat has this technology mastered but I can't seem to replicate it with any level of realism with mTracker 3D in Final Cut Pro X

I am just an amateur who was impressed by the videos shown . Bought it .. installed it and All but one clip stuck to its position after I tracked the scene I shot. Not disappointed but a little down about it having spent so much money to get it . this is Version 2. anyways. I ll try again .. but it seems a lot of time will be needed to either create contrast. mask out objects .. or reverse a clip. sorry I don't like to be a buzz kill..

I would love to do particle simulations, is motion right for that or shall I use Blender/Cinema4D? I love Final cut, I think about buying mtracker 3D and mO2 from motionvfx and then import the 3D models I made in Blender/c4d to integrate into my realfootage. Does that make sense? 1) i was wondering why is the Point still turning around when i Press Shift？No way for me to set the xyz 0. 2) Is there any ways I can tune the Point after placing it? I mean tuning the blue red green base point. 3) Even when i place the tracker at the film as your steps, it won’t stay still, just keep flying and jumping. I’ve try at different clips already, just doesn’t work for me. I do have a serious problem with placing the 3d tracker point here.

mTracker 3D is available only through CineStudio. Once you subscribe, you'll get access to both the 2D and 3D plugins, plus extensions.

You could likely do what you need with the track then make the title element a compound clip. Then, lower the opacity in the inspector.

Increasing the contrast hasn’t helped mtracker wont track the footage saying the contrast is too low max format. i have to film with internal lut in order for it to track max footage

I have 2 questions for you: I don't understand why with FCPX 10.7.1 Tracker don't work appropriately, while with the older versions my trackings were fast and error-free because before I didn't even need to change the contrast or draw any masks...it's only a version of FCPX problem? and then, which setting is best for drone videos, Free or Tripod? With Free setting il mio Mac work for a hour with a clip of 15 sec!!Thanks a lot and excuse me for my English not good...I'm Italian!

How do you import your own USDZ objects? Apparently there is no import provision for fcpx! Is it done through motion or mo2? If so how do you publish for use into fcpx? A tutorial would definitely help! Thanks

Mo2 is the best option as it gives most flexibility. However, if you have motion you can import your own USDZ models directly in motion and use mTracker3d there. A workaround (but really it’s best to use motion or mo2) is to open a usdz mTracker3d title in motion, replace the usdz model in the title with your own, click save as, and save as the new name and title and publish to fcp. But again, it’s best to just use motion or mo2.
