Whenever your grandparents start using your slang, you know it's officially dead.

"Woke" would be the newest term to get the gentrified death.
@georgebernard57837 ай бұрын
It’s even worse than that. “Woke” has been weaponized against the very community who popularized the term

Rizz, gang, function, pulling up, and cap are more recent ones. Edit: Blud maybe, even the term “the hood”, and so so much more

It's the same with "Twerking"... but most of us (meaning from Urban culture) knew as Rap video girls shaking their booty, with most of the regular black folks not actually doing it. Ugh. Then like 20 years later people started the fad... video taping themselves upside down? No. No. No... and "Fist bumping" .... but most of us knew it as Daps... SMH. PS world: you don't need to announce you are gonna fist bump... you just DO it. LMAO.

Maybe we should start saying axe so it’ll vanish too. Seriously why is that the hardest word to pronounce.
@BranMan1018 күн бұрын
“Axe” is how it was pronounced in multiple dialects in England historically. For some dialects, that is the correct pronunciation.
