The story with her brother could be done so well. Her brother was a victim of his circumstance; growing up in a home where your father abuses your mother and the family, he internalized the traumatic experience he went through and the show did a beautiful job of depicting how that affected his relationships with women. Though, now that his father is gone, it would be beautiful to depict the character grieving the lost of his mother and how he is trying to grow from the past choices he made. His past does not have to be his future. It's clear he wants to change and not be known by the past but I hope the writers do a wonderful job of showing that we can't change or run from our past just because we choose not to speak about it, but we can definitely change our past by acknowledging it and making sure we receive the help needed to better our future. The show is good at portraying the reality though that most perpetrators don't change and it's not up to their partners or the women in their lives to stick around, hoping they will be "saved" or "fixed." However, as a society, we can take steps little by little to help young boys/MEN like Sol from the start.

I know Sol is just trying to be protective based on what he's been through but he's becoming seriously controlling. I hope he remembers that Thuli also has trauma and his controlling behavior isn't making her feel protected, it's just reminding her of her father

It would be great to also show what a functional family might look like even if they are going through challenges. While I appreciate the shows shows these challenging situations, it would also have a fresh air to see people who are going through a hard time but they stand on principle and morality!

@@zanderadee4154 yeah true but they're already married. I meant the ones that started dating on the show. By the next season, they're always broken up most times with ni reason why. The only exception was Sheila and Femi from Shuga naija and we found out in the latest season that they got divorced

Some shows are good at addressing how to end the relationship others just poof. It all boils down to the writers and the people who direct the shows. But damn I was really rooting for Femi and Sheila ❤❤

@@zanderadee4154 in some cases, I felt like relationships ended because the actors couldn't come back but in cases where both actors were present, I always wondered why they couldn't keep them together. I wish we had gotten a reason for Femi and Sheila's divorce though. They were so cute together
