MTV Special: KISS Unmasking - September 18, 1983

As 1982 gave way to 1983, KISS introduced a new lead guitarist: Vinnie Vincent. Taking on the makeup persona "The Egyptian Wizard", Vinnie brought his guitar and songwriting talents to the band, joining Gene, Paul, and Eric for the 10th Anniversary Tour, which culminated with The Hottest Band In the World performing to some of the largest crowds of their career, including a show which saw over 137,000 fans pack Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. By September 1983, with the release of new studio album Lick It Up, KISS decided to make the most radical change of their career; the removal of their signature makeup and stage outfits.
