Aaron Allenson kinda like Eddie had to hire an engineer to hear his metal pole idea. - MTV....bring back music! - why in the hell Did it take The death of EVH to release this detailed 5150 studio video? Fans have always wanted a walk through video! EVH is the king. King Edward. The legend. The biggest and most famous modern musician ever. Holy shit. He was my hero.

For those who were THERE when it all went down.the early days of MTV when it changed the music industry upside down.to the guest DJ’S on the show.music video was everything.you stayed up late watching the videos, interviews of your favorite artists.this really is a lost art because this was a way the fan to could get the scoop on their favorite bands or artists.nothing like watching a world premiere video one night then talking about with friends at school the next day.

One thing that always struck me about Ed, going back to interviews from right after Wolfgang was born up until he shuffled off this mortal coil, was the fact that no matter how proud he was of his music and his accomplishments and anything else that he ever did, Edward Van Halen was a damn proud daddy. Being a father to Wolf was unquestionably filled his soul more than anything else ever could. Ed LOVED his son to the very end and still loves that boy from whichever cloud he’s currently perched on.

I'm not Eddie Van Halen, but I got a similar story. Context: I'm a guitarist plus many other things and I was in a traveling semi professional band during my last few years of college. My 8 year old niece was telling me one day about playing ukulele in her elementary music class and she shared that her music teacher was forcing everyone to play left handed (my niece, like a majority of individuals, is right handed). I, even though it was super ugly sounding, without hesitation, told her that her music teacher's an idiot and to play right handed. Seriously, what kind of music teacher...? idk, man. They're not all competent, as the record shows.

These kids( kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYrNlnqqgpaJpNU ) (and lots more like them) are killing it but being suppressed with bullshit. Right now JAZZ is HUGE, but you'd never know it because it's being played on the radio by 70-80 year old dudes who have to tell you the underwear color all 20 players from a groove that happened in 1955. The "family" moved out of Pasadena when they could still barely afford it . They really weren't making much money during the majority of the start/Dave era. Their contract with Warner Brothers was a big loan ripoff . Warner gave them money to pay for the recording and cost for touring BUT the money was a high interest rate loan . By the time they finished touring for their first album , they were late for an annual new album AND money for the loan . On top of that , they got only about $80 each for their first royalty checks . The family moved out of Pasadena after someone burglarized their house .

Oooooh, guess again. Lol Some of them may have been. But, Ed was saying the same thing when he showed a reporter the studio in 2012. By then the tapes were not completely playable. He explained they had to be baked first in order for the adhesive to set back into the tape and make them playable. He doesn't often go "back". He was more interested in writing new music than going back in time. I'd wager most of it is still not catalogued. Still lost treasure on those shelves.

@@TheDmonet i know. It was a mix of left-overs from the old Dave days and some from the Sammy days. They have rough jams like Sam's first visit to the studio where they improv'd Summer Nights on the spot. And, every record had unused songs on it that are laying around collecting dust. I know those tapes don't have completed songs on them. As a guitarist, I don't care. I'll listen to endless recordings of Ed or Ed and Al, or Ed, Al, Wolf or Mike jamming out ideas. I actually enjoy that more than finished songs. But, should Wolf/they so choose, some of those tapes COULD be turned into finished songs with what's there. Ed left a lot more behind than John Lennon did, and they still got a song out it.
